Since I love virtual parties and having some fun, I thought I'd start a 4th of July picnic/party/cook-out!
We'll have a nice afternoon sitting by a big pool with a grill to cook out some tasty food (bring something to contribute!) and lots of very comfy lounge chairs to relax in under the shade of umbrellas (no long grass or tick-laden areas!).
And when it gets dark, we'll have a fireworks show (with earplugs for those who can't handle loud noises)!
I'll bring a nice big watermelon...make that two, one with seeds and one seedless one (I'm bringing the one with seeds for people who want to have watermelon seed-spitting contests!). And I'll also bring along some chicken for the grill.
Come join the party! What will YOU bring to add to the tasty food and entertainment?
Happy 4th of July!
Peace and healing, Annie

Hey Annie,
how was your vacation?
4th of July is my favorite holiday so i wont miss this one.
Lets see I will bring some yummy spinach salad (the one made with the strawberries)....very refreshing....and marshmellows for roasting later in the evening after the fireworks.

Hi, Annie!
Count me in!
I'll have the Army pre-sweep our picnic area and elminate ALL ticks so that we can enjoy ourselves outside with no worries!
And I'll bring my famous fried chicken and potato salad, which everyone will be able to eat.
What a good idea! Posted by Nebula2005 (Member # 8244) on :
I'll bring my friend's secret recipe iced "green herbal tea with pepper" which is the most refreshing thing I've ever had and some fruity Sangria because we'll all be able to drink alcohol.
We can play volleyball on the tickless soft grass and invite George Clooney who will flirt with all of us including some really cute guys who, when we want a break, we can watch play volleyball with their shirts off.
And the great fireworks won't hurt our ears.
(Watching George Clooney talk happily with a group of other cute guys is such a lovely visual isn't it?

There we are...George sigh.
On a side note. I did meet him once. My daughter wanted his autograph as she was the one who had the big crush. But, he did make my knees buckle. Yessir.
We can see firworks at the local community college from our front yard. We will make homemade ice cream and invite the neighbors to join us. Then we will all rush inside, as it will be a 110 degree day and the street will still be radiating the heat.

One of the local 4th of July bashes features old time games of sort..ie. frog jumping contest, box turtle races, etc..
How about a tick drag and then a bon fire? With the ticks adding to the fodder. Followed by a champaigne toast...

Looks like this party is shaping up pretty well! But there's still lots of room for more people to join in so don't be shy, join the fun!

Hey
This Guys amazzzzzzzzzzing!!!!!
Smiled during the whole thing! If you love the beatles you'll love this!
I thought he should entertain us at our virtual 4th of July party!
My favorite is barbequed chicken (preferably home grown broilers in about 8 weeks, real juicy and tender), slow roasted on a spit with lemon juice and butter sauted.
Now I COULD bring good old organic home fed corn fed beef Steak or burgers) that surpasses 99% of all others.(USA exports all this good stuff, and imports inferior meat to replace it in our supermarkets,,, all based on price!!!
Also since its a holiday and time to celebrate,, might even have to have a baked tater!!! Hmm good!!!
Biggest bummer in the world is to have a holiday and no one, here, to celebrate it with.

I'm there with a big big platter of devilled eggs and a huge bowl of fresh berries with whipped cream. Also some shucked corn to roast on the grill.
You'll find me near the food table. I'll be the one eating Don's barbecue chicken and dancing to the music.

Geez Guys I almost missed it-and I was sitting here all by my lonesome. Can I come in my pajamas-since I didn't even get dressed today?
The fireworks were AWESOME. Now I don't even have anything to feel sorry about with all this good food and company.
Tell you what-I'm so glad to be here-I'll just eat all the leftovers and then clean up a little-unless you think I should leave some for folks on the West Coast who may still be coming.
