about the statue of Liberty: it is the replica that was offered to France by the United States at the end of the XIXth century, it stands at the entrance of Paris, on an island, facing the Atlantic ocean, like her big sister :-)

Awwww Sylvie....
That is the sweetest, best birthday card we could ever receive.
Being a quarter of French descent, it means even more to this American.
We need to remind people that the statue of Liberty that stands in NY harbor was a gift to the United States from France. It was dedicated on October 28, 1886.
Merci,
Ann - OH

Hi Sylvie,
It was so thoughtful of you to remember our Fourth of July.
A big 'thank you' for such a special card from such a special person.

Thank you so much for that reminder. If anyone has ever had the priviledge of seeing the big one in person, it's a feeling of pride you will never forget.
No matter what people say, or the mistakes we make, we still live in an awesome country. I'm proud to be an American!

You're welcome C'est tout naturel.
I hope I will have some day the opportunity to see the NY big sister with my own eyes. When I was a teen, we learned in school what is written on it: "Give me your tired, your poor..." very impressing.
I totally agree that America is an awesome country I'll be back!
Sylvie
