i have had my fifth laser treatment today. the doc says he has killed off the active lyme in my body and is now going for the cyst stage which could take up to twelve more treatments. he says i should not be herxing so bad with the cyst treatments. also he found that i have something like an abcess in my jaw, which is good breeding ground for spirochetes and a burden on my immune system , so we are treating for that also. i am not feeling as bad today. i am encouraged as a number of people that i have met at the doc office are finished with their treatments and are feeling great. one woman in her twenties , who has had lyme since around twelve, says she can't remember feeling this good. this laser therapy is similar to rifing, for anyone who doesn't know about it.

the doctor tests to find out where the lyme is active, using kinesiology muscle testing. he found that i have it in cerebellum , brain stem, kidney and bladder, joints the most. the laser is directed to any of those particular areas for around 3 minutes for each area. you can't feel anything and it has a red laser-appearing light, which is set to the frequency of the pathogen or problem. he is also treating for chronic giardia ,which i have . as for the name of the machine , i will post it on friday after my appt. though the doc said the machine costs $6,000 or so!

Sounds interesting Jerry. When he says the lyme has been eradicated, how does he determine this ? Does he retest with a WB ? By symptomolgy ?

at the end of treatment, he tests by symptomology and by kinesiology testing using the laser. is there any way to test to know for sure that the lyme is out of your system? has anyone done the qrrib test that is supposed to be highly accurate?

I am curious and skeptical as well. Are you being treated with antibiotics and/or herbs or only with the laser? Do you herx with these treatments?
Hubby's new chiro has some sort of cold laser -- don't know if it is the same one or not. Anyway the one time so far that he did this treatment I don't think it did anything or it made him feel worse instead of better.
Hubby has had to stop going to the chiro for a couple of weeks as the kinesiology testing and the adjustments were just causing more pain -- almost ended up in the ER last weekend.
The new herbs I have hubby on (mullein and some others -- posted about this recently) and some topical DMSO gel seem to be doing more good than the chiro for shoulder and low back pain. Have made more progress this week than in the last 3 weeks with the chiro. Hopefully the ultrasound that he is starting tomorrow will help as well.

i don't know if the cold laser is what the new england patriots use, but it is supposed to kill spirochetes.. it is set to frequencies. several people that i have met at the office are now finished with their treatments and say they are feeling well, some better than they can remember in years.

I have good results with cold laser too. Nine months of abx didn't do anything to me, but allready after the 3th cold laser appointment I felt back to normal. So I went out dancing and worked out - and crashed. It seems to be very important to avoid any ups and downs. I will be happy to give this practitioners phone # to anybody willing to be treated in NM.

Is there any literature around on this for us to read? Sounds amazing, what about the long term effects does it last?
Can the doctor tell you who else is using this and what kind of outcomes they are getting.

i haven't found much about it on the internet either. it seems to be relatively new. i'm sorry i don't know much more than that. just that the doctor tells me he is killing off the active lyme first, then he goes for the cyst stage after active is gone. actually, he also told me that the lyme is not the major problem for me but that is the ehrlichia. i am herxing bad right now though, with huge swelling in my knee and ankle. one of my biggest complaints is this constant swelling.

sorry i forgot to add that i have not taken any antibiotics. it is supposed to take about 12 treatments of cold laser if you have taken antiobiotics and 18 or so if you haven't. i have just had my 7th treatment. i go twice a week.

Is the laser directed at areas of pain? Or can someone with neuro lyme benefit from this?
Did you have swelling in these areas before the treatment?
Makes sense that it could be a herx.
Also did you know already that you had erlichia from blood tests?
I am fascinated by this information that a laser could kill spirochetes in both forms

marsy in answer to your questions--the laser is directed to the area where lyme is either active or in cyst stage. the doctor finds these areas by kinesiology muscle testing. he found that i have it in my cerebellum, brain stem, kidney,bladder, sacrum , joints. it is my understanding that it can benefit neurolyme. the only symptom where he has not seen improvement is where there is visual loss. i did have the swelling before the treatments. i have had this symptom in various places for the whole course of my lyme disease, a year and a few months since i became extremely ill and was tested. i tested positive for lyme , ehrlichia and babesia, from blood tests thru a lab. this doctor tells me i no longer have babesia.
