Hi all, I'm going to college next year, but my family's bank account has been sucked dry by these diseases--between IVs, doctor visits, and orals there's not much left to go towards college. The Mepron bill didn't help much, either! So I was just wondering if any of you know of any lyme-based scholarships?
I've learned something pretty cool, in my college search. Some colleges seem quite lyme-literate. Columbia, for example, has a Lyme Disease Research Center! It's not surprising, I suppose, since colleges have a lot of money to go towards research and whatnot, but it's still quite cool!
Thanks, guys! Posted by Aniek (Member # 5374) on :
Em,
You may want to look into disability related scholarships. I would think there will be more of a variety out there.

My son was just accepted at college. The merit scholarship application wants to know about any finacial or medical challanges he had to overcome, as well as acheivements and awards what a healthy children would have time to earn.
PA also has a Science and tech grant of $3,000 a year and a grant for teachers too I believe.
perhaps Missouri has these types too. go to the state education website.
We found that state schools are the best value and then go for scholarships/grants as well.
