Hi. I'm new to Lyme having been diagnosed just this week after having horrible joint/muscle/tendon issues for about 4 weeks to the point of thinking I would have to use a wheelchair.

Have any of you ever used a heating pad to help with the discomfort of the joints/muscles? It feels better when I do but when I stop I think it may make the symptoms worse. Or is it just my Lyme-crazed mind?

Thanks for any thoughts on this.

I have used one for pain..I never had it increase symptoms.

Really hot baths helped too when the pain was milder.

I found that moist heating pads worked best for me.

I have that problem, too. Lyme hates heat I'm learning, so you probably start feeling pain after the die-off following the application of heat.

One other problem we Lymies have is heavy metal toxicity, probably why so many of us are bothered by electromagnetic waves, so make sure you detox. Milk thistle and charcoal are good ones. Hope you feel better!

I use a moist heating pad on my back . It works very well for me & I have not noticed any side effects. My sister who's a PT told me not to do more than 20 minuets on it per hour. This is hard for me to do because it feels so good. Helps alot with my pain.

You could ask your LLMD about this.

none of this is medical advise, just me personal opinion.

welcome Gail! I've used moist heating pads for years and also frozen ice packs. I've worn out 2 heating pads due to the amount of hours used daily when sitting up.

I'll send you a private message, PM, of my 19 pages of newbie links/advise. Bettyg [Big Grin]
