Hubby tried this early on when his only diagnosis was anxiety/depression. Of course that didn't explain his Parkinsonian tremors and later loss of consciousness episodes and seizure-like episodes to our satisfaction.
Anyway he even went to a couple of sessions with a psychologist to practice various mind-body techinques and discuss stress reduction.
My opinion is that if the spirochetes are in your brain these techniques will not work. Even now after over 3 years of treatment hubby can't concentrate for much more than 15 minutes at a time without his symptoms becoming worse.
In my opinion hypercoagulation may also be an issue. If you have a brain infection or are not getting oxygen to vital parts of your brain you are not going to be able to think yourself into a good mood let alone think yourself well. These things interfere with basic brain chemistry and that is very difficult to correct even with treatment and nutrition.
Yes, I have heard of cancer patients talking to their cancer cells and stimulating their immune system. In my opinion that is not a realistic comparison, because in most cases the infection (cancer) is not in their brain.
If it helps you relax or feel better then by all means continue. But if it doesn't work then I would just let it go and not stress over why it isn't working.

P.S. The technique hubby seemed to have limited success with was imagining a ring of fire protecting him from negativity (emotions, docs or whatever).
