I am visiting with my best friend away from home. We go way back to the ninth grade, and she has always meant the world to me.
She has been taking care of an elderly friend of hers for almost a year now...Miss Goldie.
My friend called me about a week or so ago and asked that I come back home for a visit. Miss Goldie was asking for me as well.
Miss Goldie is the most loving and joyous woman that I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. She opens her arms wide with unconditional love and welcomes me as one of her daughters.
You see, she never had daughters...and my friend has known Miss goldie as a mother for many many years now.
The time has now come for Miss Goldie to leave us. She is ready and she is at peace with her death. My friend though, being the RN that she is...is not at peace with Miss Goldie's wishes to go now.
She loves her so...and cannot force herself to utter the words of permission for the passing.
Tonight, Miss Goldie has taken a turn for the worse, and the hospice nurse has just left. The nurse very lovingly sat down with both of us to explain what is about to happen.
Miss Goldie now has complications that will result in her passing very soon. When...that is between her and her maker.
I would like to ask you for your kind thoughts of love and strength and courage for my dear friend. She needs these qualities now more than ever...to also accept the passing, and to also come to a peaceful place.
I thank you so very much for doing this for my family.
Much love, Melanie

Melanie, I've been thinking about you all, all day.
Good thoughts, strength, love and peace coming to... you, your friend and Miss Goldie.

Melanie, I am the one that told my dad it was ok to go so I can understand this dilemma. There was no hope of recovery and we were to the point of leg amputation due to gang green.
No one wanted him to go thru this but he kept holding on until I sat down and told him there was no hope and it was ok for him to go.Cancer was everywhere and he had been non responsive for days but immediately at that point he started to change his breathing pattern to one that precedes death. He had been fighting for us not for himself, I suppose
It was a good thing. He had suffered too long but my brother would be very angry at me had he known I had done this. There comes a time for all of us when it is ok to go. God will set the stage and if Miss Goldie is ready, please tell your friend it will be ok. lymemomtooo

It's nice of you to care for your friend. What will probably happen is Miss Goldie will wait for your friend to fall asleep/or leave and she will go in peace.
Sometimes it is scary to lose relatives and older friends for another reason. Just recently I became the older generation when the oldest remaining relative from my parents generation died.
It hit me like a hammer. I'm an oldie now. Yeah I'm the youngest of the oldsters, but I'm still an oldster.
It can be really hard losing someone we love, even when we know it is time. Peace to you and your friend, and restful peace for Miss Goldie.

We all must pass our way through this world.
May your friend pass peacefully with love surrounding her last moments.
Sounds like Miss Goldie touched many hearts.
May she live on through you and everyone who knew her beautiful soul.
Amen.

My thoughts and Prayers are with you and Your friend tonight! My God put you in his loving arms and hold you tight.
This life can give fewer gifts better than a true friend. We treasure them with all our heart.

I do home health care also, and it is often more difficult for the family of the one who's passing then the one who's passing. You are a great friend for asking for these prayers. I will say one for you, your RN friend and Ms. Goldie. God Bless!!

Dear Melanie, I know that it's difficult for your friend to remember that sometimes we have to love a person enough to let them go.
My father died the day before Thanksgiving, 10 years ago. Along with the sadness I kept reminding myself how blessed we were to have him with us until he was 85 yrs old. He was a wonderful, caring man and I still miss him very much.
Sending lots of concern and support. Will pray that you and your friend receive peace and comfort to help you through this sad time. Just remember that both of you were truly blessed to have had this dear, sweet lady in your life.
Love and support to my thoughtful, extra special friend!

My Dear Friends, I thank you so sincerely for your most gracious words of kindness and love. I read your replies to my dear friend late last night...and she was so touched by your messages.
I want you to know that your prayers got through...my dear friend gave Miss Goldie permission to leave early yesterday morning.
Miss Goldie passed away last evening in her sleep with my friend by her side.
We were so very blessed to have known this special spirit. And I feel so grateful to have been here at my friend's home during this transition for all of us. May we each be so fortunate to have so many who love us so well in our final hours.
Daily Remembrances- Thoughts to Live By - Goldie Knight (1919-2006)
* Always remember, the abundance you crave is already yours-you just have to tune into it.
* Remember, everything in the universe flows: it flows in and out. If you try to hold onto it the flow becomes stagnant, but if you relax and release it, it flows to and fro.
* Positive thoughts keep you in harmony with the universe.
* All of your behavior results from the thoughts that precede it.
* Anything you feel you cannot live without will, in the end, own you, but if you release it, you will own it.
* Remember, nothing is formed, nothing dies. Everything is simply in transition.
* If prayer is talking to God, then intuition is God talking to you.
* Everything and every action start with a thought, an idea, a vision. Anything in your life is first a thought before it materializes in your life.
* Remember, you are the sum total of your choices. Being bored and depressed is a choice you make. Listen to your inner signals that help you make the right choices.
* Control your temper or it will control you.
* Trust your intuition, and follow it.
* Remember, you are not a human being having spiritual experiences- you are a spiritual being having human experiences.
* Remember, you can create every day whether you are aware of it or not. Creating money is just like creating anything else- it involves not being attached to it, and not giving it power over you.
* Being a spiritual person involves being able to get in touch with your invisible self.
* Remember, your body is no more than your garage where you temporarily park your soul.
* You cannot always control what goes on outside, but you can always control what goes on inside.
* Remember, you can only give away to others what you have inside yourself.
* Be willing to let anything happen-anything you fight against will take hold of you.
* When you send love to those that hate you, you diffuse the hate.
* What you see is a manifestation of what you believe.
* Remember, in order to make a visualization come into physical form, you must be able to do whatever it takes to make it appear.
* Go within the solitude of your mind where there is nothing but silence- there, you will discover God.
* Remember, forgiveness is your highest achievement because it shows true enlightenment in action.
* Judgment of anyone means that you see in others what is within yourself.
* Bless your physical being as the vehicle that houses your soul.
* Once you take charge of the inner way, the outer way will follow.
* Remember, you receive only what you are willing to let in.
* Enlightenment is the acceptance of what is.
* In your soul lies the doorway to real magic. To enter all you need to do is suspend all thoughts of limitation, because within there are no limitations.
* Remember, all you have become is the results of your thoughts.
* The more you try to force something for your own benefit, the less you will enjoy what you are seeking.
* Remember, releasing judgment of another is releasing judgment of yourself.
* Refuse to let an old person move into your body- aging is simply a state of mind.
* Remember, your thoughts are the seeds you plant, and like all seeds they become a reality.

okay, now I can cry. I am crying from both relief and real sadness that I can feel for the loss of this great woman.
Thank you for typing all of those great words of wisdom from Goldie. Are they published anywhere or did you write them down while speaking to her?
I am sending you and "RN" the most love and calming healing and peace and understanding that I can muster.
You are all so brave. I am in admiration of your grace.
love, michelle
