I was just reading an article about the reason being due to the treatments being long and insurance companies not wanting to pay. So as i just read the "catch all" is cfs/fibro. I have a friend who recently went to the FFC in jersy and i was amazed that he didn't want to test for lyme; The symptoms are similiar, i thought to mine and to be honest it kinda ****ed me off, not to mention my confusion about it. i asked her and she said that they just won't do it unless the think you have lyme. so then i read the article which makes sense. But My Question Is don't these FFC's treat patients with cfs/fibro long term, therefore coming out of the insuranc $$$? So what is the difference? i must be missing something. Some of the FFC docs, the good ones believe that cfs/fibro is due to viruses and such so that would seem just as long as a treatment to cure... im just curious about it all. your input is greatly appreciated. thank you susan

Hey there and welcome!! I only have a minute because I have to post a few things, go to bed and travel all day tomorrow.
Here is a site which may answer some of that for you. I'm sure others will come along too!!
awwwww....thanks for that limetutu...I do, indeed understand now. Now my question is do you or anyone know how many people get cured by long term treatments of antibiotics? Where do I go to find out?? what are the percentages? I do feel a bit reluctant to taking antibiotics for such a long amount of time. thanks susan xxxx

My Lyme was so bad reluntance NEVER came into play. If you are nearly paralyzed you'll welcome the antibiotics.
Your question about long term treatment from a FFC doc confuses me a little because viruses aren't treated with antibiotics. They give palliative care, and my doc is going for putting my lyme into a permanent remission.
