Dear Friends...

Instead of the obligatory New Year's resolutions that we all fall pray to...
I thought I would share with you my continued resolutions.

These were written years ago as I became very ill and went through a dramatic change. I realized at that time, my priorities were changing as well.

Now, as then, I resolve to try and continue working at the art of gratitude, the understanding of beauty and the practice of grace.

I use to believe...

That family was what you were born into- now I realize that your true family is who you find lingering in your heart at the end of the day.

That problems should be ignored until they went away- now I realize that all problems are opportunities to learn something new.

That I could orchestrate my future-now I realize that hope, faith, and trust have taken me places beyond my expectations.

That change was frightening- now I realize that without it we become stagnant.

That those with wealth, beauty, and power led charmed lives- now I realize that a charmed life consists of grace, love, and compassion.

That ones success was measured by recognition- now I realize that it is measured by quiet deeds of the heart.

That I would stop growing at a certain age- now I realize that growth is a life-long necessity.

That silence was golden- now I realize that some words should never be left unsaid.

That I could exist independently- now I realize that no one survives or thrives without the gift of another's love.

That others alone would be able to heal my heart- now I realize that true healing comes from many sources. From the earth below, from the heavens above, but mostly, from a place deep within.
