Hello everyone: It has been awhile since I've posted - at least until today and now I have several!
I never forget you and I refer many people to this website. I just have not taken the time to come back as often as I should.
My lyme seems to have been under control for quite some time now - the past four years anyway. I do sometimes have flare-ups, but they are manageable.
I returned to work four years ago. Although my lyme seems to have been under control, I have had other problems.
I was diagnosed with breast cancer and had a lumpectomy on 10/21/05. I went through radiation and have been taking an estrogen blocker since then - one year now.
Then, last May I began having problems with my back again. The short of the story is that I have been off work since the middle of May 2006 and had a lumbar fusion done on 10/10/06.
I was doing very well until I got blood clots in my right leg in December. So I am now taking coumadin.
Then two weeks ago, I fell while getting up out of a chair. I landed with my back on the seat of the chair. So I am now waiting for CT scan results to make sure I have not done any damage to the fusion.
The surgeon asked me if I had heard any clicking and I said no. He said then I must not have any screws loose, to which I responded that was debatable!! My neurosurgeon has a good sense of humor and appreciates mine too.
I will try to do better about checking in more often, however, it is difficult to sit for long periods at a time right now.
In the meantime: When you are in pain and not feeling so well, remember that the abx and the herxing are all part of the process and "bad is good but worse is better."
That is what I always told myself. If I felt bad, that meant I was sick but when I felt worse, it meant the abx were doing their job!!

I am very sorry to hear about the cancer.
I have a story for you- in 1985 a dear friend of mine was told she had metastatic breast cancer and had less than 6 months to live. They said treatment would not matter. She insisted on tx anyway because she had 5 kids (grandkids now, whoops that gave away endinG!). ANYWAY, she went into full remission, it was NOT so far advanced as they had htought, and she has been in full remission ever since!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Isn't that a nice story>? It is true!!! (And now she has a bunch of grandkids along with the kids!)
I hope yours is as happily ever after.
I really do.
W E L C O M E B A C K !!! !*!*)*!)*!)*)!*!)*!)*!*!)*!)*!)!
Nice to see you*)!! Sincerely, Sarah
