I wanted to share a spiritual experience that happened to me 3 days ago.

I pray daily. Many times a day. I try not to be selfish in my prayers, but sometimes I get stuck on some personal crisis.

As I was praying the other day, I swear I heard a voice say "Be still.....and know that I am."

My anxiety left me. I began to breath better and felt the most peaceful I have felt since the onset of Lyme.

Just wanted to share this with you guys. I hear this message now many times during the day and it renews my sense of being.

I am not sure of the purpose Lyme has in my life, but I know that but by the Grace of God, I go forward.

I continue to pray for all affected by this horrible disease. My hope is that in sharing this message, others will find peace and a sense of being as well.

That's pretty cool, Geneal! That is one of my favorite verses. My husband's grandmother told me it was a verse that would calm her down, so one day I found a cross-stitch with that verse on it and gave it to her.

She passed away several years ago, and now that hangs on my wall! It makes me think of her and of God when I see it.

Keep up that praying! Let's pray for a cure and for the IDSA to be converted! [ [Wink] ]

We have come up to Chico Calif so that our daughter can go through 40 Hyperbaric O2 sessions.

We use James 5:15 as our basis for our daughter's healing.

We don't have elders up here, but I'm pretty old so we call it close enough.

Thanks for sharing this with us.

Prayer can be very empowering as well as a healing experience.

Thanks for the reminder.

Bless you,

Thanks Magic Acorn.

I prayed then found this site. I prayed and Tutu led me to my LLMD.

I have so many blessings in my life, this board and it's members definitely included.

Yes, that is also one of the verses I repeat on a regular basis, especially since the onset of tremors which has scared me greatly.

There are many scripture verses dealing with fear so I use those a lot, for me personally. And of course all the verses mentioning healing.

What a wonderful experience you had!!

That is soooo coool! I have been looking at getting a stencil to put that on the wall in my daughter's bedroom because she says that verse is constantly on her mind.

When that's all you can do is "be still", it's a comfort to know that He is there.

Thanks for sharing.

geneal, what a wonderful experience you shared with us lyme members! [Big Grin]

yes, i feel god's presence in many ways.

during 1 of my previous 12 surgeries, when i woke up i told hubby that i'd talked to mom that day; she told me to go back; it wasn't time for me to go yet! just having mom there; comforted me so much during my surgery.

later the surgeon said i was having extreme breathing problems during the surgery. [Wink] [group hug] [kiss]

Geneal~ That is wonderful. Amazing too, that that was the verse given to me during the fall of last year to meditate on. I made a wall hanging doing basic stitchery. "Be Still and Know That I am God" Psalm 46:10 God has made it quite clear to me in a number of ways that He will bring about what I desire in His timing and in His ways...I just need to be still. I appreciate your reminder.

Lymedad~ Post back how the hyperbaric dives go for your daughter. I did 40 as well (and consulted with M.H. in Chico---nice guy). They helped my energy and stamina a lot. They did not get rid of other lyme symptoms however. And I felt quite ill during the dives...but that was to be expected. I am going to continue to do 2 dives every 2 weeks or so...because I do believe they helped. I'll post later about my experience in a different post. Good luck.

hi geneal,

--and thanks to all for posting - i often look for that spiritual encouragement from another one who is going through the same situation.

I believed and convinced my self that i was going to die. - God gave me confidence that I will live!
Every trial brings more grace to go on! So much more about God and trusting that He will cause every thing to work togethter for his good during this situation

Lymedad - how is going for you and your family
don't forget - keep in touch
and call

On a little bit of a tangent, since I've had Lyme I've had many spiritual experiences. I've felt hands on my back and have had out-of-body experiences.

My husband says it's all due to neuro troubles but I know they're real experiences, especially since I always get very ill about two days afterwards.

I think it's God's way of warning me to get prepared for some pain and suffering.

Thanks for listening!

My faith has grown tremendously in the past 11 years, since my ex left me. It has gotten me through all the valleys of divorce and Lyme.

Last week I found a really neat wall hanging at Target. It says,

"Make time for the quiet moments
as God whispers and the world is loud."

I find that when I take the time to be quiet and listen I hear a lot!

Thank you all for sharing your experiences with me. I told my Mom the other day that Lyme has brought me closer to God.

For me it is like my experience with Hurricane Katrina. It is not a path that I would have chosen to go down.

However, that journey as well as this battle with Lyme, are both that I don't regret.

Quality has new meaning to me. Quality of life and health.

I believe that difficult experiences are opportunites to help you to grow, both spiritually and personally.

I've always known how precious life is...and I know that things can change in an instant. I continue to pray and be grateful for this opportunity to be a better person and Christian.

Alright I have one and I cant figure it out yet.

This has happened twice this is absolutly the truth.
Here it is.

I have 2 times now been awakened from a sound sleep when that happens.

Anyway Iam laying on my side and wake up I dont open my eyes completely at first as I open them I am very aware there is a very bright light shining as I look up quickly I see a star like light below ceiling as I look toward it the star shrinks away I immeadiatly closed my eyes acting like I was asleep the star gets bright again then I open my eyes again and stair at it and it shrinks away toward the ceiling and then dissapears.

Now normaly I would have written this off but it has happened twice in the same week and believe my I was fully awake both times.

Any ideas?? I swear this is true its got me a little concerned but I know God is always in control Iam just rather curious as what it was ???

Dear Tree,

From what I understand and believe in, they are always there.

How wonderful it would be to see them.

I know that there are many different types of angels.

There are quite a few of them on this board. They have given me hope, helped me keep the faith, and supported me when I really needed it.

I hope I can extend this to you and know that I am sending you positive thoughts and prayers.

I think it's there to tell you to have hope & never give up. Maybe to remind you that there still is the light at the end of the tunnel. [Smile]

tree, i think your mysterious light angel is telling you that you have been DOING the RIGHT things concerning your Dad being in the nursing home, etc., and all the decisions you've made on his behave as HIS ADVOCATE.

i can't remember; is your Mom alive? If not, it's her also looking after her dear son! Just ENJOY the feelings the lights bring to you, and that INNER PEACE you feel at those moments.

go with the flow tree! god bless you, and may he ease the pain you've been going thru ok my friend! [group hug] [kiss] [group hug]

that is so weird, because this morning i felt like i was seriously at the end of my rope, my whole body was just racked with pain and i haven't been able to sleep and i asked God for a sign that i was going to be okay... and then i heard birds (in the middle of the winter in pa?) and looked out and saw 3 young birds outside my window in the tree chirping.

i have a mix cd that i always listen to, and 3 little birds by bob marley is the first one. my mom and i were completely shocked and excited. my whole family has been praying, and they have a special prayer group for me at the church my parents started going to, and i really think God was telling me "don't worry".

it still hurts like hell and i'm still scared, but its comforting to know that God does answer prayers.. maybe not the way we want him to but hopefully things will work out for us all.

lymes sucks. its totally kicking my butt. but i know now that i will get through it.

thanks for sharing your experience with us!

Well back from Dr llmd and what he said was the fevers I ve had were drug induced .
Also I told him about something all of you need to be aware of acetaminophen in drugs or alone.

Here Years ago before lyme diagnoses I would take alieve which is acetaminophen for bad back pain and some joint pain.
Sometimes I would be on it for about a month to month and half.
But no problem I stopped taking it one night no problem went to work next day which happened to be a friday and worked all day no problem then that night when going to bed I had the worst case of restless leggs tickleing irritating crawley feeling that just would not go away.{{this last all freakin night}}}

It took 3 sever nights of this to quit stop that feeling.

Well all these years later same damn thing again then it dawned on me what was in my pain pill hydrocodone>>acetaminophen sonofab its takin me a week to wean off vicodin=hydrocodone or oxycodone=acetaminophen.

This month I have only had 3to4 hrs sleep everynight sometimes less when weaning off acetaminophen=hydrocodone or oxycodone.

Now on Round yellow tablet imprinted Watson 820 is oxycodone and aspirin (generic Percodan)$10.00. but no acetaminophen in it. Same darn name but you ask for no acetaminophen its a little harder to get but its name is percodan with asprin

Lastnight went to bed slept 6hrs feel soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better.

Now for the rest of the story I have had a fever everyday this month sometimes quite high but constantly haveing higher temp.

Went to my llmd he removed mepron and switching biaxin xl to minocin and no acetaminophen in anything.

He said it was drug induced fever which I tend to believe because today I feel better than yesterday.

At the Drs I had a temp of 100degrees I felt better yesterday than I had all month today is sofar is even better.

I soaked my head all day long during this month my wife got to thinking i was get this faking it!!! wanted to knock her freakin head off that statement really tore me up if anyone should understand it, it should have been her she has lyme to allbeit not as bad as me or as long as me.

Anyway I forgive her she keeps saying you allways sound like your whining another hurtfull statement I forgive her again she is stressed out too. But man that really hurt.

Anyway the point of this is acetaminophen and what its in.

Motrin
Ibuprophen
Nyquill
Alieve
Oxycodone
Hydrocodone
Many many more.
Read the lable and if by anychance you take this stuff and have RLS restless leg syndrom this could be your cause.

Dear Tree,

Thanks for the info. I rarely take any pain relievers. I am scared with all the meds I take, if this would be the thing that sends my liver over the edge.

Sorry to hear about the comments from your wife, but I can empathize with you.

My husband, who is Elisa positive for Lyme, only had fatigue, muscle pain and some short term memory stuff going on b/f doxy.

He is doing remarkably well. Of course, he thinks I am so sick as I read these posts every day...I am in effect making myself as ill as everybody else.

Mind you he has never looked at Lyme disease on the internet. Has very limited knowledge, but now is an authority on it.

He shows no signs of co-infections, while I show signs of babs, bart and of course Lyme.

I thought maybe he would be more supportive when he tested Elisa positive, but.....you know the story.

I just tune him out. I know that knowledge is power. I want to learn everything I can about this disease and the co-infections.

If I have to live with this the rest of my life, then I want to know.

Hang in there. It is difficult, but tune out the negative comments. They may be Lyme induced anyway.

I know I am no authority on Lyme, but I am an authority on how I feel, what I feel and how if affects me.

Sending you positive thoughts and prayers to overcome the negativity.

Geneal
