Hello! I saw this forum & decided to see if anyone else has some of the same symptoms as I do.
I was bitten by a deer tic @ 4 years ago. Took Doxycycline 30 days, It went from a noticeable red rash that expanded to a large oraised welt just above the sockline on the right leg. I had flu-like symptoms 7 days befreI knew i was in trouble.
It hurt terribly until 3 days after the antibiotickicked in. THe mark healed & was gone. The tic was not embedded. I lived in upstate NY & many were bitten & the clinic where I went told me right away that was what it was.
A week later a Brown Recluse spider it me on the other leg. I took antibiotics for that 10 days. It healed & left a tan round mark.
THe problem started after I applied a hypoallergetic lotion on my legs for dry skin.
At the time I was going to an acupuncturist pstate who felt she could reverse the things happening to me. After the lotion was put on my legs, what looked to be tiny oval bister from the spider bite were severely burned after she sprayed triple antibiotic on my lower leg. I ended up with equiivalent of 1st degree burns from that & it never healed.
I mention this only to tell how 2 different insects have changed my life..
6 months after this I developed a severe exaggerated sense of smell diso-rder ...triggered by petroleum distillates of all kinds....called Multiple Chemical Sensitivity. (MCS).
My face & nose are red when exposed to fumes or vapoer of all kinds thjat never bothered me before. I have to remove my sef from them & then the reaction subsides.
I have ear ringing that intensifies with the exposure. 409 purple spray leaner fumes affect my nervous system 7 feel like nerves are spasoming under the skin .Lasts hours. Am not in pain nor on medications( too many side effects & does not fix the problem)..
Read artivle & got feed back from Univ. of Washington Staate the eye has vanellin receptors in it that react to fumes I mentioned & causes eyes to burn. He said they do not know hoe to stop this yet. But researched for MCS , Chronic Fatigue Syndrome & Fibermyalgia that all have this in common.
Other things that get me good are...Cleaning products, diesel & gas exhaust, paper products(bleached) laundry products ( a friend sneaks my clotheds in her boyfriends house to wash them for me with one laundry powder I was cleared for vcia acupuncture that held) , perfume , fragrances, cigarette & wood smoke.. laytex gloves.plastics, inks..... endless list .. even organic products.
I resorted to living in my Volvo @ 4 years now. All apts are renovated & painted, new carpets.. or things from previous tenants make it impossible..

Hello Linda Welcome to the "Bug Club"
Glad you found Lymenet, there is alot of information here.
So how long were you treated for lyme? And are you still on abx (antibiotics)? It is very important that you are not under treated. And if were only 30 of doxy that is not enough to even break the surface of LD or co-infections.
Alot of people here have MCS, I used too but it has diminished quite a bit. I will get it occasionally when I'm herxing but for the most part its gone. Just to let you know things do get better with abx and herbs.
