Hi everyone,

Last night I had a return of my wonderful babs symptoms. I have been undergoing babs treatment for years and my last round of meds even included lariam.
I am sooooooo depressed and sad. I really wanted to try to start a family this summer and now it looks like my plans are gone.
I have been crying all morning and just see no hope.
I am sorry to be such a cry baby, but I am so upset.
Thanks for listening everyone.

Awww, Im sorry to hear this. This is such a frustrating disease! Its hard to find hope sometimes.

You'll be in my prayers tonight! Hope you start feeling better soon.

You are not being a cry baby. These diseases shatter or postpone the dreams and goals we each have.

You will be in my prayers.

Please let us know what your LLMD recommends.

Take care,
Jill

I'm really sorry to hear this!! Have you been treated with artemisinin yet? I credit it with getting rid of my babs once and for all. [knock on wood!]

Hang in there...you'll overcome!

I tried artemesian, ketek, mepron, malarone, lariam and septra.
Any other suggestions to help me get rid of this thing?

Well, there's clindamycin/quinine....but I heard that quinine is off the market. I think some drs are using clindamycin/plaquenil.

Hi, so sorry to hear of your setback. This is a
truly terrible disease because of the setbacks that
can make us doubt the progress that we have made.
I really understand what you are going through.

What are your babs symptoms? Are you sure it is
back -- could the symptoms (night sweats, air
hunger, dizziness) have another cause? I hope
that is the cause of the symptoms and not a return
of babs.

I urge you to speak with your llmd and any
fertility experts that you can access about going
ahead and having a baby, despite any lingering
symptoms, and having a child when you were
planning to. I am no expert, but it may be
possible to have a healthy child while on abx
and treatment. It sounds like many women
have. Take time to consider your options, you
may have many. take care and my best wishes.

Dear Savebabe,

You must be devestatingly disappointed.

Have faith. There is a reason and a time for everything.

Yes, this is a set back. This doesn't mean that you can't have a baby.

I was 36 years old when I had my first baby and 37 when I had my second.

I didn't get married until I was 34. Talk about starting late in life.

I had to be on fertility to get pregnant with my daughter. I didn't think I would ever have a baby.

My body just wasn't cooperating. Then it did, and magically did 18 months later with no fertility enhancers.

I have to admit my second baby was quite the suprise.

I have a real hard time caring for two small children while being sick.

I would have been devestated to think I couldn't breast feed either of them.

I survive (barely) on about 7 hours of sleep now.

With a newborn and nursing, well you survive on a great deal less. I don't honestly know if I could do a newborn at this time without a lot of help.

This may not be comforting to you at this time, but know this is just a temporary delay.

Maybe your babs is not back and you have something else.

I am sending you healing and calming prayers. I know what it is like to want to get pregnant and not be able to (tried for 2 years).

Although my circumstances were different, I do understand your torment.

Take care of yourself now, so you can enjoy every minute of your pregnancy and baby without being ill.

Sending you some hugs too!!

Geneal

babe, i'm so sorry to hear about your setback. god has a plan; we don't know what it is and WHY it occurs, but it does!

right now, we need to get you well so you can properly care for your baby to come! it's like geneal said; she has 2 youngins' now, and having a hard time caring for them since she is so sick with lyme.

my thoughts/prayers headed your way. [Wink]

Thanks for all the responses and prayers everyone.
Tomorrow I am going back to my llmd and probably going back on babs meds. The sweating and fevers are usually the first symptom to appear when that darn bug hits again.
I though eight months was long enough to kill the parasite, but it looks like another round of liquid gold for me.
My husband was very understanding about us waiting once again to get pregnant. He even suggested a trip to help time go by and recover. Thank God for that man, he actually got me to stop crying.
Thanks again for listening.
Feel good everyone!

Hey Babe,

Plaquenil and art did the trick for us. Our ND uses Neem oil as well with the art. He stated it's a good anti-protozoal.

Crying is good...releases lots of nasty chemicals on the brain.

It WILl happen, and it will be the RIGHT time.

Peace and comfort to you
