I'm so sorry for you to have to hurt like this. It's never easy losing a pet. I know how hard it is, I lost my best friend right in the think of my Lyme hell, and it was really hard. You have a lot of hugs here. [Smile]

So sorry to hear of the loss of your little friend. Smile and remember the 16 wonderful years you had together and he/she will always be with you.

Give it some time, let yourself grieve, and remember there are lots of other doggies and kitties out there who would love to be your devoted friend. You can never replace the one you lost, but sometimes it helps to continue to share your love with another pet.. [group hug]

What was your dog's name?
I hope the emptiness you feel now will be filled with loving memories soon.
Thank you for posting. It is an experience many of us share with you.

Thank you. Tutu a pin is pincher, he was a minature pincher, named Scooter. He was so very old, blind, deaf, lumps and bumps, smelled really, really old, slept, ate and pooped. He had to be carried everywhere like a newborn.

Thing is, he never messed in the house, was in no pain, and stilled LOVED his dinner. The only time he stood up was when he needed to go outside or it was about an hour before dinner.

My 2 other dogs, miss him, even though they didn't seem to pay to much attention to him before. They know he is gone. They were just different last night and this morning. They both were very restless in bed and one actually didn't even want to go to bed last night. She just knew something wasn't right. It was like we can't go to bed, where is Scooter?

Putting something down, just kills me. It is soooo against my nature to bring a life to an end. I know it is the right thing to do, especailly with events leading up to our decision, it's just tough, really tough.I so much just wanted him to fall asleep on his own [Frown]

I'm so sorry...it is the hardest thing to let go. You did the right thing for him and you know that right?

Still, it hurts so much. I know, I had to put my Sammy down last summer. Time does take the pain away, but he'll always be with you. [kiss]

Jelly,

I'm so sorry for your loss...dogs touch our lives in so many ways.

Hard as it was, it sounds like the best decision. My thoughts are with you and the other dogs.

Bless your heart. We have had standard pinschers and lost one at 14 yrs a year ago. He was the perfect dog.

We got a puppy and he has worn me OUT. Pinschers are a force of nature, and demand your time. So, when they go, you have invested so much into them the loss is huge

I grieve with you, they take part of us with them.

So sorry to hear of your loss. I know the pain and still feel the pain daily.

We had to put our 12 year old black lab down a year ago. The hardest thing that my husband and I ever had to do.

Then last november when I was so sick with lyme my kittie got hit and killed by a car.

It is so hard to lose pets that fill our lives with such unconditional love and joy.

Rejoice in their memories and love the pets we have now. [kiss]

I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved Scooter.

My first dog, by myself, was a Scooter also.

I still miss him and he's been gone for 7 years.

I wanted to share something with you...someone gave this to me

when my Scooter passed away, and I must say still gives me comfort.

The Rainbow Bridge
(Inspired by a Norse legend)

By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill

Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still

Where the friends of man and woman do run,

When their time on earth is over and done.

For here, between this world and the next,

Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest.

On this golden land, they wait and they play,

Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day.

No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness,

For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness.

Their limbs are restored, their health renewed,

Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued.

They romp through the grass, without even a care,

Until one day they start, and sniff at the air.

All ears prick forward, eyes dart front and back,

They all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack.

For just at that instant, their eyes have met;

Together again, both person and pet.

So they run to each other, these friends from long past,

The time of their parting is over at last.

The sadness they felt while they were apart,

Has turned into joy once more in each heart.

They embrace with a love that will last forever,

And then, side-by-side, they cross over.....together.

Hugs,

Geneal

Hi Jelly

Sorry to hear about the loss of your Pet. I had to put my dog down last year at this time and I know how difficult that is. They become such an important part of our lives.
