I really don't know what to do...I am so exhausted..completely spent. I am 22 and have lyme. I am on IV Rocephin and paying out of pocket. I have to work to pay for all this and since I don't have a car my "ride" comes from my mom who drops me off at 7:45am and picks me up at 6pm.
My job is hard, because it consists of using your brain to do very basic things. But I can't remember how to do those things. I can barely remember what word I am trying to say.
I take 3 sleeping pills at night but I am still so tired all the time. I want to push myself, I want to succeed, I want to beat this, but I feel like I am losing. I want to give up the fight. I want to quit my job and go to sleep.
How do you all manage? How do u make it throug the week? I feel like I am missing out on everything and I have so much to offer so much I want to do!

Can you get by on ONE sleeping pill?? 3 will make you really grogged out all day and also can cause depression.
I'm really sorry you are struggling so just to survive. Have you tried taking oral abx??
Could you stay home and get some rest if you were on orals?? Sounds like a plan to me!
Dr B says the two main reasons patients fail to get well is LACK OF ADEQUATE REST and drinking alcohol.

Sorry if this is a dumb thing to say. I'm fairly new to the board.
Are you taking vitamin C? As long as I get at least 5000 mg of Vit C a day, I sleep so much better at night. When we were first diagnosed with lyme, we spent the first month of treatment just ramping up on vit C and probiotics. I was amazed at how much that alone helped, not just with sleep, but also the neck pains I was having.
That said, I've recently had more troubles with fatigue (which is different than the sleep issue) and figured out my thyroid is now out of wack. I'm starting thyroid supps as of today.

My favorite pick-me-up is green powder mixed with water or juice. I like Enriching Greens from Natural Factors, because it almost tastes good.
I also take some sublingual B12 along with a B50 capsule when I feel like I can't go on. They help.
Is there somewhere where you can take a put-your-feet-up kind of rest while waiting for your ride?
Hang in there. I think probably all of us on this board know how you feel, or have been there at some point. It's going to pass, and you'll pull through it!

I have to agree with Lymetoo. Is there anyway you can work part time and take orals?
I take NT Factor for fatigue. Either I've killed a lot of bugs over the past month or this stuff if miraculous! You have to buy it from a doctor.

Is there anyway you can work from home while on iv?
Or possibly work part time until you feel better.
Can you use sick days at work and stay home?
I would do anything I could to try and stay home until you feel stronger, and go back to work gradually.
I know it's not easy. Please hang in there and be good to yourself.
It does get easier, it just takes time and patience.
