It has been a month 1/2 since pulling a tick off of me. I had the bullseye rash, flu syptoms

extreme weakness etc., but what is bothering me the most is the severe deep burning pain that

radiates through my back , arms, face, front of my neck it almost feels like the front of my neck

has a drawing sensation and a weird feeling in my throat.

will this go away? I have been prescribed doxy for 10 days, then amoxicillin 500mg 3 x's a day for 21 days.

The sensation of my throat is driving me crazy it's a scary feeling like you can't swallow then it eases off, but then comes right back. [bonk]

Hi JAYNE,
I would like to say "Me Tarzan, you JAYNE"

But alas all I can say is HOWDY and alas I am but --just don--

It sure sounds like lymie symptoms and I can only HOPE they go away,,,deciding factor may be how strong a dose of doxy??? And then the Amoxi.???

IF I were you I would continue your treatment till at LEAST 45-60 days past ALL symptoms you can find!! Knock this out GOOD the first time.

GO on the net and buy abx IF you have to,,,OR get thee to a LLMD!!!Like ASAP. as in a week or two or few ,not overnighting yourself Fed_EX in one of their funny little boxes!!

You make me laugh, just don! [Smile]

Jayne, I couldn't agree more with just don and Lymetoo - an LLMD is a MUST!

Yes, I do suffer from neurological pain with Lyme. It's hard to live with, but the symptoms do come and go so you feel you can stand it, perhaps, for one more day.

You will probably find that as time goes on your symptoms will change, and hopefully not be as terrible as what you're experiencing right now, so long as you're on an effective protocol.

Get it early and hit it hard!!

Sincerely, Lymelady

I have lived with this pain every day for the past 12 years.

You get use to it after some time. It still at the end of they day drives me nuts, and i start to loose it.

I need to talk to my LLmd about pain meds. I do not want to live in pain any more!

Hang in there babe!

You need a LLMD- a Lyme Literate MD and you can find one by going to the Seeking Doctors column of this board-

I had agonizing pain for years because I was undertreated at the beginning-

BUlls-eye means you HAVE Lyme (or STARI Southern rash Associated TBI, same thing almost)

I needed IV Rocephin to get rid of mine because I got so bad- hopefully you will get treatment sooner- the appropriate treatment from an LLMD-

I am glad you are on abx- a good start- don't go off if you are not well!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I live with that pain everyday...but some are lucky to get their Lyme into remission and therefore feel better.

All I can say is that you get used to the pain. The swallowing things is very annoying...I still have it...but could be thyroid problems also.

Well, you have friends here and we will try to help you out in anyway.

If you find one, get to an LLMD soon and begin your journey to health earlier rather than later1

Much Luck!
Allison
