Hi everyone, I'm in my third week of treatment

I'm currently on 100mg doxy 2x aday, 500mg Erythromycin 2x aday, and 500mg fagyl 2x aday.

the first week was ROUGH, bad brain fog, nausea, body acks, you name it.

the second week was much better, the brain fog had lifted and had several days I almost felt normal again.

by the third week, reallity set back in with another round of same old and some new symptoms.

It's hard for me to judge how my treatment is going to this point.

I return to Dr.W tomarrow.

(lesson learned) my doctor warned me to avoid the sun while on doxy.

problem is my summer job I work fishing charters on lake Michigan

I spent ten hours on the lake sunday, I tried to protect myself.

wore long sleve shirt and pants not fun in 80-90 degree temps.

unfortunatly for me my face, neck, and hands are beat red and very sore!

not to mention the physical toll on my body, no energy body warn down.

I've decided to end my summer job, and hobby for fishing until I'm off doxy.

and may have to cut back on my hours at my full time job to give my body a break.

I'm a bit of a stubborn person, but I can no longer ignore the fact I'm a very sick person, and am unable to continue living as I did before becoming ill.

P.S. brain fog on a wavy lake is TORTURE

You may want to ask your LLMD about minocycline.

Supposed to have less sun sensitivity issues with it.

It definitely packs a punch though.

I can't take it as it gives me vertigo. Not dizziness, but vertigo.

Hang in there.

Your doing well for all those meds and herxing.

Watch that diet and probiotics.

All those antibiotics equals yeast, yeast and more yeast.

Try some aloe vera gel. It helped me when my hands got severely burned on doxy.

Hugs,

Geneal

Be careful on that many antibiotics, have your liver checked. There is a woman in our lyme support group that was put on the "shotgun" protocol and her liver is stressed. She improved quick, but now can't take anything for months.

I cant imagine how you are still functioning at all 10 hours on water with a body full of doxy.

I stayed inside in dead of winter,,,was COLD outside,,,I HAD to go out for abut an hur a day,,,I burnt to a crisp with long pants and shirt, even coats and hats.

NO amount of sunscreeen will help you out there. GOOD decision to resign temp till better!!!

Good luck and get well!!IB--just don

cheeze,
so sorry to read about your doxy experience! i feel your pain since mom was a redhead; i have her sensitive skin also and burn to a crisp WITHOUT doxy!

glad you quit your cruising job to take care of your body. it's wicked.

did you buy any of the special NOIR, NO INFRARED SUNGLASSES, i mentioned in my newbie package to you. i can't live without them and my dark RX sunglasses!

you need also some type of cap coming down to shade your face/neck, and wear lightweight gloves.

best wishes to you. [group hug] [kiss]

thank everyone for your replies and concerns

Kelmo:thanks for the warning, I'll ask my doctor I'f I should have my liver checked.

General:I'll ask my doctor about monocycline, I have not had any yeast problems yet.

just don:Hi,believe me one hour is tough let alone ten. It was very foolish on my part!

bettyg:yes I wore dark sun glasses, hat with a towel tucked into cap and draped down back of my neck.

unfortunattly I find it difficult to wear gloves when working.

so I tucked them into my sleves whenever possible.

Ellie K:thanks for your concern too.

I return to DR.W today, I'll let you all know how it goes.

hope everyone feels well today, best wishes Brandon
