I plateaued on bactrim ds (1600mg) after about 5 months.
Just didn't do anything for me at the end...except give me big yeast issues.
I take malarone with biaxin. Zithromax caused ear ringing for me.
Call your LLMD and let them know you are doing worse.
Have you been ill or under any unusual stress lately?
That could be contributing.
Sending positive thoughts and prayers for you to turn the tide and start
Climbing that rope to feeling better.
BTW, have you been checked or treated for any other co-infections?
Did you just start malarone? It could be the babs holding you back.
Hugs,
Geneal

Thanks Geneal. I haven't been tested for Co-
infections. My LLMD doesn't think the test are
worth it since they are not accurate. He just
goes off of symptems. Yes I have been under a
lot of stress. Marriage is on the rocks. But I
am trying to be strong. I haven't started the
Malarone yet. I think I will start it
tomorrow. He wants me to keep taking the
Zithromax with the Malorone and see what
happens. I just talked to him last week.
Im just terrifed of a huge herx right
now, since I am already feeling so crappy.
Thanks again. Time to go home.. Yippie!

Oh, I can only imagine how disappointing this can be for you. Sounds to me like it might be time to hit those suckers with another round of meds. Hey, you've had a spell of feeling good so just have to get over this hump to get back there again.
Hey, since you were doing so well, maybe the herx won't be so bad. Best of luck!! One day at a time...

Merrie,
I avoided any mention of co-infections for about 6 months...but then I started treatment for them. I'm so glad I did!
You're under a lot of stress, but it really could be co-infections surfacing, too. I had to take different things for them. In addition, wondering if you've used a cyst-buster--something else I avoided, just because they sounded so awful. Again, I'm glad I got past that.
I really do hope you find something that can reverse these symptoms and get you on the path to feeling good again.

The Malarone needs the Zith, but Biaxin can be taken with Malarone instead.
If you feel you are backsliding, maybe you're having candida issues. The symptoms can be similar to Lyme symptoms.
So you are treating co-infections now ... have you been tested for heavy metals?
There are a lot of different things that can contribute into our feeling bad with Lyme Disease. I hope you start feeling better, soon.

my cocktail that has helped, use at your discretion.
zitro,doxy,vfend,mepron,acyclovir,plaquenil,
most important is min of10 weeks of vfend with blood test. acyclovir is for viral infections.
you can use cyst busters, but i have given up on them . my goal is to keep the cyst forms cysts and kill the infections in the blood stream.
i am very bad with my diet, but still have gotten better with a bad diet.
just added mnepron last week and my joint pain went away after 1 dose.it is still sorebut more tolerable.
got ulcer using motrin, now using ultram for pain
discuss all treatmwentwith docs since everybody has different symptoms and coinfection.
i was tested neg for all coinfections , but my doc ,along with help from me decided to try mepron for babs, and it seems to help.
so i am semi in remission ,even with all the cold rain in the mountains and the cold weather.
you can pm me if you need more info.

Thanks for your replys. I am getting the Malarone
today. I am hoping my insurance will cover the Zith
and the Malarone. Yikes. I hear Malarone is very
expensive. So I guess I will have to see. I will
be getting it later today. I thought I had some but
