What an awful tragedy! I have relatives and old friends there. We heard from our nephew and he and his family are okay. Haven't been able to contact some others.

I hope Lyme patients who live there will check in here.

Hi, I live 15 minuites from the bridge. I drive

that all the time. I can't imagine the people

that are involved. I called all of my family

and friends last nite to make sure none of them

were on it. Then the phones jammed and I

couldn't call anyone. Everyone is fine though.

I haven't been able to turn the TV off. Its

crazy and so very sad.

I pray for all of the people who are missing...

My heart sank when it happened and sank again when darkness fell. I knew those in the water were not going to get out.

Maybe we'll still have a miracle. I do know that the children on the school bus making it out OK was a miracle in itself.

Prayers are needed for all involved. There are many grieving families today.

Same here. Hubby and I were watching Fox News at the time. They were the first with pictures.
Glad you're OK Merrie!

It's a horrible tragedy. So far, there are 5 dead, 111 injured, and 8 missing people.

My husband works about a mile from the site. He doesn't cross the bridge to come home. He was home when the bridge collapsed.

Local TV stations to watch the updates:

WCCO
Kare 11
KSTP

This link gives information about the 5 casualties.

Please keep these people in your prayers!

Peggy

One of the confirmed fatalities was a single again mom " 32 YO" with a 7 and 12 year old at home.

She came from about 40-50 miles east of me. her family is devasted including her good friend ex husband.

She was going to school there and was going to move back to her home state and open her own beauty shop.
