Hi Ronda. I'm in WA too.

Yes, I do know lymies who have not left WA state.

I don't know where in WA you are. If you're in E. WA in the tri-cities area, contact me -- our group meets every 2nd Thursday of the month.

There is a very active WA LD group, with a chat forum, info about doctors, and lots of good people at http://www.geocities.com/playpub/walyme.html

There's an Eastern Washingont Yahoo group at
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/LymeDiseaseEasternWashington/

P.S. -- to make it easier for Lymies to read your posts, break up the paras after 2-3 sentences. A lot of us have problems with blocks of text.

W E L C O M E !*)!*)!
!*)!*)!)!*)!*)!*)!*)!

And I hope you know about WA1 Babesiosis, a strain of Babesiosis named after your fair state!
And w/o a bulls-eye I would make sure you have been carefully evaluated for WA1 babs as well as the other coinfections!!!

WELCOME AGAIN*)!*)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi again Ronda. You just got to see my lyme brain in action -- it says right in your profile that you're in Everett.

Also I missed the whole middle bit of your post re your abx.

Coinfections can be a huge factor in why treatment does or does not seem to work. Ditto for problems with how your body handles toxins and how well you're able to control yeast overgrowth from abx.

CL is right -- WA-1 babesiosis is a spectacularly nasty and persistent brand of babs. The hubby has it (as well as LD), and we think it's as bad as or worse than LD. It causes neuro problems, weakness, fatigue, pain, etc. etc.

I don't know what other meds you've used, but from what you've listed here you haven't been thoroughly treated for babs yet.

We did not find plaquenil helpful for WA-1 babs, although it does have other uses.

Mepron/zith worked well for my WA-1 babs, but not for the hubby's. He's now trying quinine/clindamycin.

Bartonella is another coinfection that really caused us problems. It's usually treated with Rifampin or a quinolone -- flagyl and ceftin won't touch it.

Also -- detoxing can be a big issue after you've done a bunch of abx. Some people have a huge problem with it, others not so much.

One of my Lymie friends has a fairly common genetic predisposition not to detox well, and this has really complicated her treatment (but it can be managed once it's recognized).

Sounds like you have a LLMD who will go the distance with you. I'm sorry you're feeling so ill. I know how rotten it is to go through that kind of treatment and not feel any better.

Hang in there.
