Hello all,

I am in need of a new vacuum. I have self propelled right now. I cannot push the non self-propelled. I would like a Dyson as I have several dogs.
Could anyone give me their recommendations on which new one to buy?
Thanks!
Jazzy

Why not get a Roomba (those little self propelled things that bounce around the room automatically). You can get the house cleaned and chase the dogs around at the same time.

Sears sells a little tiny canister vac that I was able to use during the worst of things. It was there own brand - Kenmore Blue Magic. It works great if you need it for area rugs and floors. I see it now comes with a beater brush and the suction is unbelievable.

If you can afford it get a Dyson. I have dogs and cats and it works great (I borrow my sister in laws lol) they cost around $500 though...

Just leave stuff dirty. Nature abhors a vacuum.

But dealing with animal hair is a big pain!

You might call these people to see about a refurbished cleartrak (the one made from the Dyson plans by amway under questionable circumstances). I've owned mine since 1988 (it's the older model they fix anymore) and it still "sucks dirt off the concrete under the carpet" ... as my friend told me after she borrowed it. Mine has been sent back for refurbishment once. Not bad for a 19 year old vacuum cleaner.

For TinCup: No, I don't have any business relationship with WMJ Refurbishing or amway. [kiss]

Thank you everyone for the advice! I mostly definitely have to have self propelled. I cannot push the regular ones. I wonder how the Roomba does on pet hair? That would be ideal.

Let us know what you get and how it works out.. I have needed a vacuum since I came down with this.

I am so thankful for those who come over and vacuum for me.

I have a standard poodle now so dog hair is not a problem.

But, it was a big problem when I had my lab so I understand.
