Hello all of you pic-line people.

I have been dragging this pic-line of mine around with me for I don't know how long and racking my brain to figure out what to do to end this sock thing so I finally came up with something. I figured since I was probably going to have this pic-line in for I don't know how many more weeks, I thought I would make a nice looking cover-up for it. I was so very tired of the sock thing that I tossed out the single socks, you know the ones that dosen't have a mate or a date ha ha; so I got out my sewing machine and stiched up a nice cover-up.

After I put it on, it felt so much better. I didn't feel like some weirdo anymore either. I don't think anyone even paid attention to it.

I started off with just plain ones at first and then I bought some prettier fabric. The fabric is made mostly of poly/cotton or just cotton. I made a very pretty one out of the color of an eggplant for one lady. I made it so it would go down to her wrist and I added a little charm or something to that effect. It turned out very nice if I do say so myself. I even made some to match what I was wearing that day. My husband was even helping me to color coordinate too. Imagine that. [Smile]

Anyway I thought I would post that I am making them for only a few bucks to cover the supplies and shipping.

If anyone is interested, please e-mail me.

If you are interested, please tell me if you would like a plain one or a printed one and what color and what kind of material; stretchy fabric is best. Let me know also if you would like printed. I will also need to know the upper measurement of your arm. That is so I don't make them too tight and so that I will make them tight enough. The more information I know about it the better and I will do my very best to make you a proud owner of a very pretty cover up and you won't be ashamed anymore. lol [Smile]

Oh and by the way, they will be hand washable or if you prefer, just toss them in a load of your laundry.

I hope I can help you out.

Thanks.

Maria

Hi first twin. I think of you every time I go thru town on my way south helping to move my mom or going to the cracker.

I even saw a car with first twin on it on a side road the other day so hoped it meant you were doing better and getting around.

Since you have not been on for awhile, they have a rule that you can't promote yourself or try to sell things so they may ask you to move or delete this post. But hope not, this sounds like a good idea.

Hope the picc line is working out.

Some may not remember you being first diagnosed with MS, I think.. Good luck..lymemomtooo

[Smile] Hello there,

I know its been a long time since I have been on but I haven't felt well for about as long as the last time I posted here.

I just couldn't sit for too long at one time.

I have missed so much; even being on the Lyme Net Discussion. You can't do what you can't do.

Oh I know whose car that is that says first twin. I would have put that on our car but only one person can use it.

I wish I knew when you were coming through town, you could stop by and see me. I don't have anyone to visit me. It would be nice to see a new face.

Who would I ask about the picc line covers?

I didn't know it was so strict around here. Oh well; thats ok.

Better go for now. You take care.

How funny you should write about this because I was daydreaming of making covers for my daughter if she should get a pic line.

Did you use elastic on each end of a tube of fabric? That's what I've been thinking. Or velcro?

Hello Kelmo,

That is exactly how I do it. I put what I guess you would call two pockets at each end of fabric after you make a tube. Then feed elastic through the bottom and the top with elastic with a safety pin.

Make sure you don't make the elastic too tight or she will get a red mark around her arm and it will start to hurt after awhile.

Make sure you don't make it too loose or it will fall off.

If you have a difficult time and can't make it, I would be more than glad to help you out. I only ask $3.50 enough to handle the material and shipping. I have plain colors and a cute print with apples all over it.

It's really not hard. I am sure you can do it. [Smile]

Good Luck,
Maria

Hello Kelmo,

That is exactly how I did it. I created I guess you would call a pocket at each end and then put the elastic through with a safety pin.

I didn't make the elastic too tight because it would make red marks around my arm but you have to make it tight enough so it won't fall off.

I feel lost without one on. It feels so much better than a sock.

Good Luck with your covers.
