I just wanted to say how glad I am to have found this forum and the people here. I can see how there are little "spats" here and there, but hey, that's family right? Or at least I think so.

I never really had family, and both my parents are deceased. Father died last year from cancers from agent orange (vietnam) and mother died in May from "complications from lupus".

I'm not even sure if I have lyme at this point since I am still waiting on my igenex results as most of you know if you have read any of my previous posts....but I can so relate to so many of the posts here and so many of the emotions.

I was in the lyme chat last night where there were several from this forum, and they welcomed me with open arms and were so wonderful and supportive.

I wasn't sure if I would be excepted there since I'm not technically a "lyme patient", but I felt supported and accepted and it warmed my heart.

For all those who have been here suffering with this disease you have my admiration for your strength. I am a nurse and have taken care of so many patients with chronic conditions and now I find myself "on the other side".

For the "newbies" like myself...just know that you will find wonderful people here, answers and support you need, and smiles when you are feeling your worst.

Thank you for being there in this vast world of cyberspace. I feel that I have been able to reach out from my rural Alaska and find friends who can understand. That means so much to me right now.

Please feel free to write me if there is anything I can ever do for any of you. As a nurse, I'm a great listener, a great researcher, and have some knowledge...when my foggy brain is working.

Hope you get your results soon so you can get on the road to getting well. [Smile]

My neighbor is a RN. Following my journey on getting diagnosed,

I encouraged her to get tested as she had so many symptoms.

She was CDC positive. She says that in her 25 years of working, she has never seen

Anything like Lyme. This bug is tough. The battle to overcome it-tougher.

This board and the people on it have saved my life. They keep me sane, give me hope,

Unconditional love and acceptance, encouragement, advice.....I could go on. [Big Grin]

Hang in there. Hope you have a great birthday tomorrow.

It was great getting to know you last night on the chat. Good luck with your test results and be sure to post them here when you get them.

While you are the nurse, we probably know more than the doctors in your area about how to interpret them!

Nice to see you last night,tis me the goofed up one!!

I have 3 RN daughters,,,they all give me advice I dont need to hear!! (they are of MAIN stream denial)

keep those fish all cozy and cared for,dont let the big one get away!!

As I already said,wanted to visit your state since the 60's. (sigh) Someday!!

TOO far to travel by myself,,,and NOBODY would travel WITH ME!!! beings--just don--AND too old to know better!!

The pictures of Alaska on your website are gorgeous. The pictures of your foot-although they have many of the same colors-well not so pretty-hope you are on the mend!!!! OUCH

My daughter's senior class went on a missions trip to Alaska, near Juno I believe.

Arrived in Spring-to two feet of snow. I don't have the specifics-but it was at a camp by a lake with mountains in the background-course that sounds like it could be most of Alaska.

She said they had a great trip, enjoyed being there-but wouldn't move there because the weather was a bit dreary.

But oh how spectacular it looks when the sun does come out.

So they have ticks in Alaska???? Guess I have to read more of your story.

That's EXACTLY what I was thinking, betty!! We've got tons of them! Seems as though we have a lot of teachers too. [or is it just me?]
