Okay, so family tells you like it is and encourages no matter what...need you all!
Just before Christmas, I got really sick with a flu or stomach bug that put me in the hospital.
Well, Christmas was just a few days after I felt better, and I totally fell off the diet. It has really affected me.
I have a rash on my back, my joints are killing me. Each day I've told myself that I'll get back on the diet, but now that I've "fallen off the wagon" I'm like a total addict. Hiding that I'm eating badly from my family and looking for the next sugar fix.
This comes after months of being almost carb free. Help!!!!

Throw out the junk food. Put it in the trash where you can't get to it.
Tomorrow is a new day and a fresh start.

Hi Fetz -- I've been through the candida thing. I find it easier to do a step-down -- eat less sugary foods first before doing no sugar. So, fruits instead, including even sugary ones for that sugar craving. Then less sugary fruit, and then skip even the fruit sugars.

After I dont eat it any carbs for about a week I dont want them anymore.
I used to just cut out junk food carbs. And I can honestly can say it didnt bother me. I would look at a dish of candy and see "sickness" (on top of my tons of symptoms now)
smell fresh baked brownies and smell "sickness".
It is easy for me not to go back to eating things that I know will make me sick. "sickness" doesn't ever taste good to me.
Now I have completely cut out the carbs because it MIGHT make me feel better. the fact that I MIGHT be able to exert some control over how awful I feel is enough of an insentive for me.
Do you think maybe you developed yeast. I have heard it can make you crave more sugar I dont know how much more or how much yeast you would have to have to get cravings.
Do you think maybe you could ween off carbs like instead of bought junk with tons of sugar in it bake some cookies with out it. I think I have heard some people use stevia for baking.
Also health food stores sell mixes for brownies and stuff without gluten if you have a gluten senstivity.
Cut yourself some slack. Lyme is hard. trying to adhere to diets that take more energy on top of having lyme is really hard (believe me I know).
If we were healthy, eating healthy wouldnt be so hard. And alot of us have to eat some form of a healthy diet (varying between individuals how that is defined) for us to regain our health.-
seems a bit unfair. Hang in there I know you will find a way to get back on track Posted by fetz (Member # 11843) on :
Thanks so much to you all. I believe that I do have the yeast - candida. I had been almost totally carb free for about 3 months, but when I did have some again, it seemed that I had lost all control/will power.
I love the idea of picturing/smelling the sickness....I will definitely be doing that now.
I was just getting so frustrated with myself because I couldn't seem to overcome the cravings. I was giving in to it. I did okay yesterday...I did eat fruit (strawberries, blueberries, and even a little cranberry), but it was a step in the right direction.
I so appreciate the advice and also the "hang in there's!"
You all are so great! Thank you for the "lift" you gave me. I feel as if you are all my God-given angels.
