I am being treated for Lyme finally. I have been suspicious of it for 14 years since I was bitten and given 14 days of antibiotics.
After the birth of my 2nd son things stated going down hill for me, 3 years ago. I have so many symptoms but just want a test to say YES this is what you have.
Taking antibiotic for a month and probably longer just feels so unnatural. Every little feeling I have I think, is that the Lyme. Are they dying?
How do I decide when to stop the antibiotics?
It's so hard to put faith into a Dr after seeing so many that said I was fine.
The worst part of this is my fear of giving it to my kids. My Dr said not to treat them unless they have symptoms but how do I know if they have ``symptoms'' or they just have issues healthy kids have, like bed wetting at age 6.
I feel so discouraged.

This website has been a great source of support and information for me thru the years. I'm sure that you'll find the same.
Of course you feel discouraged- that is exactly how you should be feeling right now!!! But hopefully we can encourage you- it DOES get better- for some people, quickly, some slowly!!
Bed wetting is not a Lyme issue that I have ever heard of- boys can take until age 5 to have full control of their bladder- girls tend to have it younger in general- it's a common issue with young children-
My Suggestion= Read the Lyme in Children thread in the medical section and see if there are red flags or not- and if your kid is sick, my kid was very sick and has now been in full remission for 7 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There is life after Lyme- nice to meet you*)! Sincerely, Sarah

Hello fellow newbie. I'm relatively new here too, but have been treated for Lyme for 3 1/2 years.
My son, age 11, still has Lyme. One thing the Dr. made a point about was if your child has symptoms that involve several different systems (i.e. gastrointestinal, headaches, ENT, mood, joints/muscles, etc.) you can suspect Lyme.
It's good to look over a symptoms list. We found our's online at xpressnet.com/bhealthy/symptoms. I thought my son's "growing pains", gastric reflux, frequent ear infections & headaches were unrelated until I quizzed him using a symptoms list.
We didn't realize he had tinnitus until my husband & I were discussing the ringing in our ears & my son said "don't worry, I have that all the time."
Kids can be difficult for this reason to diagnose unless they're really, really ill. And frequently their young immune systems can keep the worst at bay for several years.
My son got increasingly ill, beginning w. only minor symptoms. I understand your anxiety.

I had a child who had problems waking in the night and getting there in time too.
Try a differnt approach, nothing to drink after like 7PM till bed,,,made ALL the differnece in the world!!
They make those training trousers that give instant COLD feeling right away!!Might work.

was you tested for lyme and coinfections or was lyme diagnosed clinically?
(i have lyme and babs - like you i spent a good portion of my life struggling with symptoms before i was diagnosed)
Is your current dr lyme literate?

I am being treated clinically by a LLMD.
All blood work has been neg but I have a ton of symptoms.

Where was your bloodwork sent?
You need to send blood to Igenex and Fry labs.
Fry for Bartonella Igenex for Lyme, Babesia (request FISH test) & Ehrlichia.
Please make sure your LLMD has done the appropriate testing. Elisa and Western Blot both came up as FALSE negatives for me and I was chronically ill with Lyme.
Igenex missed my Bartonella and Fry found it just last year. Just don't want you to have to revisit years down the road...
