Time to go to town when...

The only thing in the house to eat for the past two days has been liverwurst, peanut butter and watermellon. Breakfast, lunch and supper.

[Big Grin]

Your turn!

Time to go to town is when.....

All you have is left-overs......and the dogs won't even eat them!

I love silly games. [Big Grin]

When the contents of your frige are culturing their own ABX and your dog starts drooling whenever she looks at you. [Eek!]

don, that was great and reminded me of being home on the farm with canned goods galore, a cow for milk, chickens for egg/meat, etc!

and the kerosene lamps for when we lost our electricity for days on end!

time to go to the store when

I'm out of my favorite food POPCORN & BUTTER!

I'm sick of listening to the same music CDs and library is 1 block from grocery store

next.....

Don,

I know the feeling....not exactly 3 months, but 37 long days without electricity.

I did learn how to cook pizza on a grill.

Stores didn't open for about 10 days, then no cold foods.

No meats, milks, butter, vegetables.....anything.

About 2.5 weeks after the storm we road tripped north to

find some meat and produce.

I'll never forget when my Mom and I found grapes and bananas at Walmart about

3 weeks after Katrina. We were so excited I think we cried.

Thank God we had a generator and we had moved our deep freezer out to the garage

Before the Hurricane. MRE's were pretty good, but the kids wouldn't touch them.

Makes you really appreciate the little stuff like fresh food and electricity. [Big Grin]

Of course I told my husband don't ever and I mean ever, never ask me

To go camping. [dizzy]

Hugs,

Geneal

I don't think Tin was playing any game; she was down to the basics!

Hope you got re-stocked, TC.

I have to go to the store when I run out of Dove dark chocolates. Two a day keeps me civil.

Oh yeah... all of those reasons are good! Especially when you are out of chocolate!!

And yes.. I got re-stocked... barely!

It seems I came to FL not noticing my bank card was ready to expire! I had $11.00 cash.. and one hundred dollars worth of food, etc that I was trying to buy.

Imagine MY surprise and panic at the register when the card didn't work and I couldn't get cash at an ATM!!!

And they couldn't take an out-of-state check!

Anyhow.. seems the bank card was "lost" in the mail.. so I am waiting for the 2 weeks to get a new one. Ugggggg...

In the meantime I found a grocery store that takes my checks (almost 40 minutes from me) and allows me to get some cash back.. but only 2 times a week... so I am not out and about quite yet!

Heaven help the neighbors if I run out of the essentials...

Like chocolate!

[Eek!]

seriously,

the bank card business is a great big deal. i feel for you, tin.

after trying every which way to hold onto a ATM card of my own, i finally conceded defeat and now am without one. lost too many, couldn't keep track of balances, etc.

a really big deal for those of us who value independence. [Frown]
