Hi Everyone
Well I am still alive [Smile] I was not sure that was possible 3 months ago. I am just starting to feel a little better. I drove 6 times locally in the last two weeks...had not driven since July.

I am taking care of the kids, making dinner, cleaning the house...and teaching online..only one class.

I am not sure this is very fast progress...but it is progress for me so I am trying to stay positive. I may even go to my kids Valentines party next week if I can handle it...keep your fingers crossed.

I have also been taking the zith 250 for 10 weeks and the mepron for 6 weeks. Honestly I have even gained back the weight I lost....trust me I was looking like the walking death.

I still have burning pain but it is more like a 4 out of 10. The worst part for me is the nerve pain in my legs and arms. I also have it in my ears and face but it is lessened. The teeth and jaw thing is also there but lessened. I had two bad crying spells this week...not bad since I used to have them every day. The blurry vision comes and goes.

I have no idea how long I will be on the IV. It is helping but I hate getting stuck everyday. Probably another 3 months if I can take it.

Is this good progress and will it keep getting better? The scariest part for me is being afraid that I will go back to the encephalitis mummy with burning pain all over my body. I hope nobody every goes back to that point.

Monica

(blush) Heck*)!

I know what you mean about the fear of return though- I advise you strongly to avoid the movie Awakenings unless you want to deal with that issue specifically!!! I cried after seeing that movie and kept flexing my hands repeatedly to see for myself that I could still bend them!! Scary!! (because I couldn't barely move my hands by the end, could not open them, they were scrunched claw hands with terrible swelling & arthritis too).

It's a Robin Williams/ Robert Deniro movie, a true story, where neurologically frozen sick people are awakened by treatment- for a short time- and then they found that this treatment which magically restored people to normal stops working- after a brief respite- and they return to the same state as before!!! it is TERRIFYING!!
It's from a book by the neurologist Edmund Sacks.
(see, I'm not always positive*)!!!(sometimes I get scared too*)!

But AVOID it unless you want to deal with that fear. I own a copy now and can watch it calmly!
Progress, not perfection*)!

Just keep on, it will happen-!! The good stuff, I mean, not the scary stuff-
Best wishes,
Sarah

Yes Mtree it does feel great to take care of the usual things again...even if I am not doing it as well now. It is a sad thing to know that being able to do laundry gives me joy...LOL.

I will stay away from that movie Sarah [Smile] There are actually lots of stuff that I used to watch that I cannot now but I am getting better. I cannot watch ER, House, or Greys Anatomy and I always watched them before. It just upsets me too much. Funny thing is I end up watching TV with my kids now...mostly the Disney Channel....LOL.
