I just found out my senior prom date (from many moons ago) is now an ID doctor. Do I now need to reach out to him and try to edumacate him?

Any time you can educate a doctor, its a good idea. Hopfully he has a open mind!!!

No, I wouldn't bother unless he tried to take you walking through the woods on prom night and he had struggled with some unknown illness since.
Are you still friends with him? See him socially? Most/some docs don't like to be educated by their patients or their Mom, or friends.

No woods, we went to a nightclub in NYC.
I haven't seen him in years. But I would love to see him again because he was a really sweet guy. I knew he was a doctor, I was just surprised to find out he's an ID.

Aniek, well make an appt with him. Maybe he is a lyme educated ID doc and can help you. Wouldn't that be a blessing?

I say make contact and give it a go. What have you got to lose? Most docs already give us that sideway glance when we mention lyme and treatment. What's one more?
Sometimes it takes time for new information & ideas to swirl around in the brain for a person to grasp an new way of thinking.
