for me officially. Never thought it'd come to this but I'm obviously a menace to society falling all over the place. My coordination stinks. I'm a bit mad at my body for turning traitor on me.
Good news after last night. I coudn't go to church so the chuch came to me. It was a beautiful thing. Our church is pretty small yet, only 6 families plus, they all fit in my living room with me on the sofa under the covers as they sang and encouraged me in the Lord. The little girls brought me cards telling me how much they loved me. One of the unattached 19 year olds is staying with us for few days to help out. Maybe some of the other older ones will come on different days and help out too. They really didn't realize how sick I am I guess. I don't like to add to others burdens. My hubby is going to edit this cause my typing and writing is still messed up. I tried to write a letter to a friend and it looks like a 5 year old did it. I keep asking myself, why is this happening?
Blessings and love, Kimberly

Or you could look into getting one at a local fire dept. I borrowed one for two years with no questions asked!

I've seen wheelchairs at Thrift stores too.
Also if there is a Lyons Club by you they may be able to help also.
Many insurances will pay for a wheel chair, but it is usually a one time deal.
Is it one that you will be pushing yourself in?
If so, you may want to see if one of those Medical Supply places
Rents them and can properly fit one for you.
That is very important if you are to be wheeling yourself around.
Hugs,
Geneal

My understanding is that insurance only pays if you are completely immobile without one.
For instance, I have a battery powered scooter. When I first got it it was the only way I could remain independent as a single person.
I couldn't go shopping except at stores with battery powered carts in them. Despite that my insurance did not cover it.
I do think some of the suggestions already given may work for you. Just don't expect your insurance to pay for it unless you are truly bed-bound, 100%.
Good luck!

You can have my mother's. It's still in good shape. I've tried to sell it, but to no avail. [small community like yours]
PM me if interested. Maybe I'm not that far from you?? I'm in MO.
That's so sweet about your church. What a blessing!
