I've had 'something' going on 9 months now. I became ill last summer with a flu and have never really felt better since.
Most of my symptoms are locialized- to do with my right ear, neck pain and popping sounds, fatique, sore throat, stiff neck, swollen glands etc. I also found out I have low iron.
My gut feeling is that there is something physically wrong with my ear causing a lot of concentration issues, balance issues, occasional visual distrubances (seeing flashing lights) and dizziness.
I was much worse in the beginning with nasty head pains and headaches but it seems to have gotten better. I don't know if it's the abx that have helped or if it's just been time. I was getting better before abx therapy and still improved while taking abx for those 2 months.
I did find a LLMD and started ABX therapy for 2 months now. It did seem that I went through herxes, joint/body pains and flare-ups... now i've take a week break off of abx and my symptoms are returning a bit.
But for the most part- I don't feel sick... I don't feel infected. I just wish my neck would stop hurting, my ear would feel less full and stop ringing. if my symptoms would go, I'd almost feel 100%.
I just am not sure what's goingo on with my body... could I just have a mild case of lyme? I've also read a lot about CSF leaks and wonder if I have that?
I did an igenex test and one of them the IGG was postive while the other was negative... I don't know what that tells me... perhaps a past infection?
Maybe I'm just in denial because I don't want to have lyme... I just am driving myself crazy trying to figure this out....
I don't recall any tick bite but was in cottage country before I became 'ill' last summer.

xtine, I think you have Lyme. I'm glad your symptoms aren't too severe - just bad enough to know you're not "right".
Keep working with the LLMD. You might be a "success" story one day! Posted by Lymetoo (Member # 743) on :
I think you're in denial too. Sure it could be a MILD case NOW. Don't let it destroy your life piece by piece!
Get adequate treatment!!
A positive test is a positive test!! Doesn't matter if it's IgG or IgM.

I think you're all right... I'm in denial :-P
After a week off abx I've noticed some symptoms return... i've started with my abx again and hopefully will continue to treat this.
it's just so unbeliveable for me... i don't know why... i guess becuase i've never been sick before.
thanks for the wake-up call.

Just in case you needed another wake up call, I thought I'd chime in.
You have symptoms and you just got lucky that they're not to bad. I didn't have bad symptoms for years ..... treat now while you still feel pretty good. You don't want to feel REALLY bad from this!
I was also IgG positive. Keep working with your LLMD until you are well. We all go through denial. Posted by Geneal (Member # 10375) on :
I think we all go through this denial thing with Lyme.
Maybe it isn't Lyme.....maybe it is stress or something else.
In my case, I was sure I had a brain tumor due to all of my neurological deficits.
I have Lyme disease. I also have babesia and maybe still bartonella.
It takes a long time to really sink in.
It isn't a pleasant diagnosis to be sure.
It sure beats a brain tumor though.
Hugs,
Geneal

Christine, If you begin to doubt again, read my story below! Mine started off very slowly too!
