I hope this gives someone a good laugh or even a smile to brighten their day.

I've been packing my children's lunch faithfully for almost 2 years.

Today, I packed my sons and dropped him at his Mother's Day Out.

Did various errends. On the way home around noon,

I thought "Oh no!" "I didn't pack his turkey!"

Then I thought, of course I did. [Roll Eyes]

Came home ready for a nap, looked in the refrigerator and there it was.

Turkey! [Eek!]

I had to get back in the car, drive like a race car driver

To get his lunch to him in time.

Whew!!!

Just when you thought it was safe to go in the water....... [dizzy]

Hugs,

Geneal

You're a complete mess, aren't you!!? [lol]

Hey, that would be a good day for me! [Big Grin]

Did you get your nap??

No nap for the weary.

By the time I made it back home (to let the dogs out),

I had 20 minutes before I had to get back in the car to pick up both children.

Oh well.....that will teach me.

I have one more child free moment this Wed from 9:30 till 1:30.

I enjoy my children. I do. It is just so much easier running errends without them. [Big Grin]

Hugs,

Geneal

geneal, [lol] [dizzy]

i feel for you; running around in circles,

could you have a magnetic board next to door where kids leave, and they check off they got their lunches daily and THEY LOOKED THEM OVER!

just giving them more responsibility to help their dear Mom easing her brain functions daily.
best wishes ....

personally, I APPLAUD EVERY ONE OF YOU WORKING MOMS WITH YOUNG KIDS WHO CAN'T TAKE CARE OF THEMSELVES, and doing all that you do for them!!

i personally couldn't do this; so take your BOWS [bow] [bonk]

CONGRATS TO EACH OF YOU!! You're the very BEST!

Sounds like when I made cheese sandwiches for my kids- I remembered the cheese-but forgot to take the plastic wrap off the slices! HA!

My mother-in-law made tuna casserole without the tuna!! [Big Grin]

And my mom once made my dad a hamburger without the hamburger!! [lol]

I never do things like that!! [lol]

Once when my kids were younger, I put their lunches in the wrong lunch boxes. One of those lymie moments.

My ten year old got mashed food and a sippy cup, and my two year old got a kind of sandwich she had never heard of.

Both gave me the evil eye when I picked them up.

I've since discovered that when I've forgotten to make lunch entirely, and delivered the lunch boxes to school on Monday with Friday's rotten leftovers in them,

the kids are delighted in their friend chips, goldfish crackers, and candies. No more evil eyes, since they've learned how to beg poor.

Geneal, you're a great mom.

You all are so supportive of me. [Smile]

I did have a brief "I am a bad Mom moment".

Then I had this flash of "Darn! I thought my memory was getting better!"

Thankfully, my youngest was very forgiving.

He gets his feeling hurt so easily.

Last year I forgot once to not pack his Hershey's kiss.

(I told them that was a kiss from their Mom in the middle of the day).

When I picked him up there was a note in his folder.

He apparently cried all afternoon and refused to eat any lunch. [Frown]

I felt horrible.

I am just glad it wasn't more serious.....like forgetting to pay the electricity bill. [Big Grin]

I swear I hear the Jaws Themesong in my head.

Hugs,

Geneal

I was sitting at the computer with headset on listening to music- and singing along. Unbeknownst to me, Carolyn was video taping on her cell phone.

After watching it, I told her "Life's no fun if you can't laugh at yourself".

She , of course, wanted all her buddies to laugh at me,too, so she posted it , probably on facebook.

Some friends dropped by on Mother's day and the clip became the Main Feature. Jodie was actually rolling on the floor laughing. I thought she was going to pee herself.

Full volume lends a lot to the comedy, too.

I heard a great self analysis:

"I'm a PERFECT human being-I make mistakes." [Smile]

(and sometimes I sing a little off key!)

Well, it had nothing to do with Lyme, but three years back or so, I was in a car accident (rear ended by a 16 year old who'd just gotten a brand new car from mommy and daddy, and was digging around under his dashboard for cds while doing twice the speed limit; totalled the car I'd just bought a week before), and ended up with some back pain. My doctor gave me some muscle relaxants for it, and told me that they might make me a little tired, but very rarely have any significant mental effects.

Convinced that I'd be fine, I took them and drove to work (at the time, I was working at McDonalds, ick). I then proceeded to make several hamburgers before an amused co-worker pointed out that the tray I thought I was taking the burger patties from was empty. She had to watch me very carefully for the rest of the night. Scary part is, my manager let me drive home after.

Incidentally, the co-worker who got such a laugh from it back then is my girlfriend now, and she still gives me a hard time about it any time I make hamburgers. =D

Fortunately, I seem to have caught the Lyme before I ended up with any serious neuro problems. *crosses fingers*

I have one of those conversation mirrors in my car so i see the kids in the back seat. When driving, i will suddenly panic and think "where are my kids?!" then I look in the mirror. if they arene't there, its a mental run down of what day is it, what time is it, where are they supposed to be, and did i miss a pick up!

Maybe its just a mom thing....

Oh dmbfan! Just read your post. I do that all the time!

I'm no longer neuro, but still so used to making lyme-brained mistakes, forgetting appointments, and panicing that I will miss something.

I still get adrenaline rushes when I look in my rear view and there are no kids.

I'm still scared I'm going to miss something crucial, or that my little one was left by the side of the road somewhere due to my brain freeze.

I have a friend with five kids who once realized she was missing her three year old a half hour away from the last gas station stop.

They turned around and when they got back their little guy was sitting on the stoop eating ice cream.

The station owners just kept him fed until the parents returned. There are many angels on this planet.

Oh.....I can unfortunately add to this story.

Was sending a check out for something.

Wrote address on envelope, put a note in.

Put it in the mailbox.

I get notice a couple of days ago that the envelope wasn't sealed

And if there was a check it is MIA! [Eek!]

Talk about creating some anxiety. Now I am thinking "Great!" "Identify Theft"

I call the bank and realize I don't have the check number in front of me.

Looked in my checkbook to discover I may have thought I wrote that check, but didn't. [dizzy]

Talk about feel silly and stupid at the same time.

I have never, ever done this in my life.

I laugh now (especially since the anxiety about it has passed)

And realize I really need more therapy for bart and Lyme when I finish this babesia treatment. [Frown]

By the Grace of God, we muddle through. [Smile]

Hugs,

Geneal

Lists, Lists and more lists...the only way I can remember where I am to go or where I have been...

So when I read my emails that the orthodontist was confirming daughters appointment I paniced .... I had forgotten all about it....

But it was still morning and I could pick her up at school at the end of the day and get there....head was spinning [loco] and eyes weren't working all too well...but it is a short drive....

Picked her up on time - hurray.......and even got to the office early - yippee.....only to find out that our appointment isn't for 3 weeks......

I had read an old email that should have been deleted.....

My daughter laughed.....and the office personnel thought it was a hoot.......

Just another day in the life

[shake]
