Sorry to post here but It seems like no-mans land in the computer help section [sleepy]

LOL.
to offence intended to anyone really.

I have lots of images on my computer. I wanted to include one of them on my signature but even after reading posts on UBB code I can't seem to comprehend the directions.

Too foggy headed to remember anything for more than a couple of minutes and I'm getting frustrated having to go back and read again.

Cut and paste is all I can seem to do. [Roll Eyes]

I'm not sure, the directions said something about making sure that the link had http before that and when I tried it it wouldn't post pic.

OK.. maybe this will help.

This is how I would post a link for a birthday greeting:

[IMG]http://cards.webshots.com/resources2/3/7353.gif[/IMG to make it work, just add the final "]" at the end of that.

I think that you are entering it correctly, but I think it has to say gif or GIF, (either one) at the end of what you enter for an animated picture.

Also, I think it has to be from another site....not your own computer if it is animated? Non-animated may not require the gif at the end?

I see you did use gif on your signature, but I would double check the address.....

I know LouB has a golfer swinging in his signature line, I tried to see how he entered it and couldn't.
He might be able to help if the above doesn't help?

You can find "addresses" of the links someone uses by right clicking and then clicking on "properties."

It will bring up the actual link. You can do that with Lou's pic!

OH!!!! I didn't see that you had the desired link in your signature!

Just put a space before the first [img] .. should work then!!

editing to add.... This "address" doesn't look like it will work. Meg is right as far as I know. It has to be a link from a website in order to work.

Here's Lou's signature graphic, try putting that temporarily into your signature. To copy that, go to the quote feature at the top of my post and it should bring up the address for you to copy to your signature?

If that works, than you either can't do it from your computer, or your address may be wrong?

could be .. I've never tried doing that. My signaure tutus are in my profile and no one else can access that.

Nope, that didn't work, I get nothing when I enter your addy without spaces.

Maybe someone more computer literate will help us out, but I would say you can't link an animated graphic to your puter.....and try linking to the place the graphic came from.

I just experimented with a link to a website. not many of them allow that. Sorry to be so confused. [Big Grin]

Except,
remove the space before the [IMG] and http.

(this program was cutting off part of your address)

boy oh boy , I can't seem to update my profile now. Is there a limit to how many tries I get? I uploaded a few images to my flicker acc. and tried to link to it there.

I ended up adding images to my flicker account and was able to link to them there. Only problem is it might be a violation of their site rules. Oh well I guess I'll find out eventually [Smile]
