I may have posted this before, but it is frequent I have bad dreams.
I just had one and am now away at 3 am and most likely will not get back to sleep.
Wondering if it is the restoril I am taking.
Not a good way to start the day.
Anyone else having this problem?

I actually read somewhere (can't for the life of me remember where that was) that most of our dreams are of the "bad" variety. We tend to dream about struggles, difficulties, random scenes of conflict, etc.
However, most people do not remember their dreams, so it's not an issue. I guess it's our way of processing life's nonsense. But when you spend a lot of time in light sleep phases (as many of us do), you are much more aware of these dreams.

Hey KAM...
Nice to hear from you but sorry you are having this problem.
I have bad dreams .. as do others.. when taking Melatonin to sleep. It usually lasts only a week or two.. in the beginning. Then they are gone.
My theory... and theory only... no documentation...
When our bodies finally get "deep" sleep... the dreaming process kicks in. And it is kicked in hard. I think it indicates we are getting good deep sleep... which is good for a change for many of us.
BUT..
WHY do we have nightmares rather than nice dreams?
I have no clue.
I've been so scared from these dreams.. as they are so unbelievably bad.. and I know in my waking hours I couldn't begin to think such horrible things.
So I have no clue why.. but it is happening to others sometimes... so do note that.
Hope they stop soon and you can get some rest.

Thank Quiet Fiery and TC. My body is in more pain than usual this am and I couldn't figure out why.
Then I started reading this thread and thought ah ha....lack of enough sleep last night might be it.
If I figure out away to have good news instead of bad, I will surely let you know!!
and that is true TC, at least I am sleeping now where I went years without being able to sleep.
