I signed up yesterday. I'll begin a total of thirty 90-minute dives in October.

I'm excited and dreading it at at the same time. What if it doesn't work? [Frown]

I'm going to continue with the abx in the mean time.

Our daughter did HBO last year in Chico, CA.

Along with IV Rocephin, HBO probably the best results we've seen.

2.4 ATA is the best. I did six weeks and loved it. I did relapse but many months later.

Daughter's LLMD max'd her out on antibiotics - IV Rocephin, Cipro, Amoxicilin and plenty of herbs and supplements.

Wanted maximum kill-off during HBO.

I will be starting bicillin injections after the 1st of the year and have been considering addint HBOT to my regimen at that time.

Can anyone tell me what this roughly costs?

HBO therapy is hyperbaric oxygen therapy. You can find a study on the web by Dr. Fife who studied the effects of HBOT on Lyme patients and their symptoms. There was also a study performed on mice wherein 80% of the infected mice showed no Bb after HBO compared to 97% of the control group of infected mice.

It costs (gulp) $200 for each 90-minute session and the Lyme protocol is for 30 sessions. There is a credit company called Care Now (I think) that is extending me a line of credit for eighteen months at zero interest. I figured if I paid about $350 a month, I could pay it off in 18 months without incurring any interest or fees. Not cheap but not totally cost prohibitive, either.

I will be taking my antibiotics during that time and am hoping to completely wipe out any and all nasty germs and get my quality of life back.

I'm taking a no-holds barred approach to killing off these buggers and I'll be darned if I let some nasty germs ruin me! [Mad]

It's hyberbaric oxygen chamber. You can research studies they have done with Lyme patients. The increased oxygen helps the body fight infection and reduces/eliminates symptoms.

I started Monday. I felt fine afterwards and went back to work. Was a little sleepy when I got home and napped but that's gotten to be normal for me since Lyme has entered my life.

Tuesday I got out and felt GREAT! I went back to work and had more energy than I have in months. I went to back to work and was actually in a good mood. Wednesday- I felt fine after- no surge of energy but no fatigue either.

Took Thursday off and am going back today and tomorrow.

No herx, yet.

I really think this is an important therapy for Lymies when it comes to feeling better.

Unfortunately, I found out one of of my DDs definitely has Lyme (four ++++ on band 31 and the confirmation test confirmed it) and the other DD had a few elevated bands but a negative result. Band 31 confirmation was negative for her.

I will be traveling to MO to see a pediatric LLMD and spending a lot of money. I am now seriously thinking of taking both girls to Germany next summer for treatment.

Given the cost of the trip, I have decided to stop the HBOT after next week. It's too much to spend for my budget in addition to a trip to Germant next summer.

If anyone is interested in HBOT, I do think it is worth every penny and makes you feel great - lots of energy. A lack of energy and fatigue has been my worst stymptom.

Maybe I'll befriend Michael Jackson so I can use his at no charge. (I'll just keep my kids away from him.) [Big Grin]

First time I had PICC and was on Claforin (best) for six weeks.

2nd and 3rd time were maintenance for 2 weeks - on oral meds.
