In May I had a scare - I was at work, and I got one of the worst headache I've ever had in my life. It just all of a sudden flew into the right side of my head.
It actually made me double over - I thought I was going to pass out. It lasted a few seconds, and after it let up, I felt very "out of it".
Kinda out of touch with reality. I had to think about what I wanted to say and it also affected the left side of my body (ie: I couldn't walk right for almost a week - it affected my arm and leg on left side)
I also woke up the next day with Bell's Palsy on my right side. I was eventually sent to a neurologist. I had an MRI and an EEG done. My MRI was normal, but my EEG results were abnormal.
The results said I have peroids of "slowed brain activity" ( , my kids had fun with that one)does anyone/or did anyone have something similar happen to them?
Background info: I have lyme disease (I've most likely been infected since age 3 - I'm now 45)
I've been on lymenet before, but haven't posted in a while because I've had to get a job, and it takes about all the energy I have.

I don't mean to scare you for sure.
However, what you described almost sounded like a Transient Ischemic Attack.
Some call it a mini stroke.
It can cause stroke like symptoms (i.e. paralysis on one side).
Then pass on by. Symptoms seemingly resolve on their own.
It wouldn't show up on an MRI or CAT scan.
That is because the clot actually passed prior to permanent damage.
Just something to keep in mind.
Is your blood pressure normal?
High blood pressure is the single highest contributing factor to CVA's (strokes).
I am sure there are others here on the board with similar experiences.
I just had to pass the info I know as a Speech Therapist
Who has worked with a countless number of stroke patients.
May need to get a second neuro consult just to be sure....
I've never had an EEG done.
I am sure at this time in my life I would be considered more than a "little slow".
Dame bramaged....most likely.

Thank you for your response. Normally, my blood pressure is on the low side. Usually runs around 110/60-70.
Although the day that I had the "headache" my blood pressure was 139/85, I think. The Dr. said it was because of being in pain.
I've been to the Dr. since then, and my blood pressure is back to its normal range. (except for last week when I went to the urgent care center for pain in my abdomen)
It really scares me though, because I thought I had a stroke. It was frightening not being able to make my left leg work "right" when I walked.
