Sorry if this is old news but someone just brought this to my attention.

Amy Tan, author of The Joy Luck Club, has late-stage neuroborreliosis.

She has had it since 1999.

On her website, she writes about what she has been through and how people can get help.

Reading it made me almost cry as I can relate to her many symptoms.

Everything she wrote is what I want to tell people but can never get the words out.

She's my all-time favorite author.

I actually read about her struggle with Lyme on her website just a few months before becoming symptomatic for Lyme myself.

I wish there was a way to find out how she is doing and if she is still taking abx. She hasn't updated her story in a while.

Yes, it's old news, but still a compelling read. You can also read about her battle with Lyme in the final chapter of her book, The Opposite of Fate.

Through the Lyme Literati, she has been a wonderful help in fund- and awareness-raising.

Her new opera, The Bonesetter's Daughter, premiered here this fall season. I wrote about it in Off Topic. She was there for the opening night.

I often wonder how she is doing also.

Saw a program on PBS shortly after reading your post Robin
