I'm very, very lucky. I've found the man of my dreams. He's suffering from pretty severe psoriatic arthritis and chronic fatigue himself, so he's fabulous about dealing with my Lyme (and yes, who knows, maybe he has Lyme himself).

We want to get married. We tried putting it off "until we feel better" - but that just won't work. We realize we really want to get married, aches and pains and fatigue and all.

But HOW? How does one even BEGIN to plan the Lymie wedding when you can't plan your day????

OMgoodness - anyone? any ideas? Has anyone out there dealt with this????? HELP!!!!

Well congrats and best wishes to you both! I would start by delegating plans to everyone you know (who is well)! Planning a wedding can be very exhasuting and you will need help.
Are you going on a Honeymoon? Wher do you think? Somewhere where there are no ticks I bet.

Blessings to you,
-p

Thanks for the well wishes everyone! [Smile]

It's really great to be able to share something good, for a change.

But the planning thing is kiliing me! It's just, just... it seems impossible. And who has the money to throw a wedding these days? We need it all for drugs!

I know, I know. I'm lucky to have such problems. Thanks for letting me rant.

Congratulations!!!!

I was planning my wedding just as I was getting sick with Lyme. What helped me was being hyper organized (or at least trying my best).

I got a humongous binder with tabs. I made separate tabs for everything: adddresses, cake, seating, site....etc. That binder was my saving grace because I kept everything in there and it was all in one spot and easy to access.

I also made notes in my bnder of all the phone conversations I had under the relevant tab. That way I could look and see what I had confirmed, what people said, etc.

I also went to weddingchannel.com and they had great software on that to help me with the budget. Actually, that site helped with a lot of things.

For the day itself I sat down and made an Excel spreadsheet timeline of what was to happen when, who was to be involved, what things were needed, etc. I made sure everyone had copies who needed them.

ooh - another thing that saved my bacon was making an extremely detailed to do list with every teeny tiny little thing that had to be done on it. That went into the binder under a separate tab. Even stuff other people were supposed to do went on it so I could track it and cross it off when it was complete.

Unfortunately, that day I could barely stand I was so sick. Four months later I was bedridden, but it was still an awesome day.

Alison
