Hello all, I seem to have a problem with some of my posts getting deleted for some strange reason. The last time I posted, I answered someone's question about lyme testing in dogs (I am a vet tech and had some info). I think I made the mistake of saying that dogs usually handle the illness better than people (physically)- i.e. they usually don't get as sick. Basically, if things I post bother whatever regime presides over this "support group", then I am silenced. As fellow sufferers of chronic lyme, you all should know more than anyone how hard it is to come by support and understanding and a safe place to discuss and look for answers. I am very disappointed. This is no discussion group- it is merely a sounding wall for the moderators' beliefs.

I was also a vet tech, and lyra is right about dogs handling Lyme better than people......

I feel for you. I have been feeling like I am not saying the right things in my posts. I have posted 3 topics and not ONE single response. It's pretty bothersome because this is supposed to be a support group but now it's all starting to seem like a popularity contest.
Maybe I am just having a bad day? UGH!

Hi Lyra, To find your recent posts, just click on your own name inside any topic that you replied to.
This will take you to your Profile page. Look on the right hand side, and then click on the link 'View recent posts'.
That will give you a listing of all your posts. It is likely, that your replies are still here, just hiding.
Barby, Sometimes it takes us awhile to respond. Please be patient and know that you are an important member. Posted by randibear (Member # 11290) on :
hey barby, hon, i post lots and often don't get any responses???
don't know whether it's me, what i said, or maybe nobody has the same thing going on.
if you want a response just pm me, i've always got plenty to say....LOL

Randi, FWIW...I was thinking just recently that you seem to post really good questions. Ones that I haven't heard before or were wondering about myself. Perhaps this is why you have fewer replies? The answers aren't that obvious?
Barby, I just looked at your most recent two questions and really don't have an answer. I do know that TBDs seem to cause just about anything and everything as far as symptoms are concerned.
The eye issue reminds me of my 'migraine with aura' type symptoms. Do some searching on that to see if it might be a consideration for you, OK?

I'm sorry about my post. I was having a bad morning and was being too snarky. I apologize. I see that post now. Others are missing, though. I suppose I should consider computer problems and user error before I go around pointing fingers. Sorry. I do notice lot of other people getting ridiculed or asked to delete their posts, though. That's not cool. Neither was this thread. Sorry about that. Thanks for not getting angry about my angry sounding post. I regret what I said now.

Trust me, the moderators never have enough time to sit around and read what we write. We usually have to alert them to problems on the board. They won't see it except in rare occasions.
So they didn't just erase your replies. They wouldn't unless you broke a rule that is listed here on the board.

<<<<< Lyra Dear Lady >>>>>,
Welcome to the boards here, I feel odd sometimes too, like I am not posting the right things/ questions.
We all have rough days, and forget were posts are,I forget my own sometimes even...
The folk here are all either ill themselves and/or taking care of one or more loved ones who are ill.
Keep posting and asking questions, sooner or later someone will see and commiserate at the least, and/or post anything worhtwhile they can that may help you!!!
Please don't give up on us!!! Lyme and co. is confusing and bewildering, especially w/ brainfog, and nuero symptoms.
Jus' some tho'ts from Silverwolf!

i just thought of something.
if i write a post or respond to someone and wait for it to say posted, i will go through ok. but sometimes i back out of the site right after i write something and then it won't post. maybe i'm navigating away too fast and it doesn't go through.
just a thought....

Hi Lyra,
I for one would be very interested how an animal/dog responds to tx.
What blood work the vet orders and labs etc.
Also how they detect and treat for parasites and worms.
Thanks,
Gael

Lyra,
There is not need to apologize for feeling frustrated. We are all going through a lot and that builds up and spills over from time to time. Hang in there! Posted by s0ngbird1962 (Member # 16395) on :
My dog was treated more aggressively for lyme than my 6 yr old son, that's all I'll say about that....

A migraine aura usually occurs about 20 minutes before head pain begins and generally lasts from 10 to 25 minutes before disappearing. Rarely, aura may occur with no headache. This is referred to as a migraine equivalent.
I never got a headache or migraine and I am very familiar with both. This disturbance has been going on for 8 and a half hours and I took a break from the computer for 6 of those hours. Now returning I notice it's still there and I am on a different computer! I ran my glasses under super hot water to clean them of all smudges completely. No help. This is so weird!

Back in the old days...
Here is a good general rule to follow...
If you ask a question, reply to 2 others.
Even if you don't know the answers... at least post a response to let them know someone is trying to help and someone cares.
Reminder...
There is no one is here to answer your questions (paid or volunteers)... ever. That job belongs to no one.
We, as patients, are only able to do what we can to try to help, when we are able.

Hey Barby (and everyone),
I can't speak for anybody else, but I've had little or now response to some posts too,
BUT --- I figure maybe they were not things that someone else had an answer for, or didn't know how to answer them.
And that's fine!
I also know that if there are others out there as sick as I am, that may be a reason as well.
I have actually forgotten alot of my own posts.
I also don't have a computer at home (I can access my email thru my phone, but I use a library computer for things like this).
In any case, I have found people here that I am GRATEFUL for, because they literally did save my life.
If I had not found these people, who read my comments and replied or PM'd me, I honestly know I would not be here on this earth today. I had my plans for a "way out".
I say --- just because something may not get an answer, It doesnt mean anything terrible, just keep posting anyway!
And if you want to PM me again, I'm here! (I'm not going anywhere! LOL!)

Hey Miss. I feel bad. I was having a bad day... I do really appreciate everyone here! So helpful. Especially when I have no one else to talk to about it. :-)

That would be SOOOO GREAT!
Lyra... If you want someone to reply and no one seems to be there....just bring it to the top with something like "anyone?" .. just post a reply to your own thread.
That brings it up to the top again.

i think what might be happening with the not any/many replies to certain posts is that quite a few questions continue to be asked by ppl that those of us who have been around awhile have answered a trillion times before
there is an amazing amount of info on this board. do a search if you aren't getting a response/the response you're looking for and you will prob find more than enough information that you're looking for
