it is a Dreadful disease, and for many of us it is caught late-stage. When it is caught late-stage it is so tough to treat, please help us to find the answer, the best way to treat it.
All we want is to find the best way to treat it, and the Medical Profession doesnt give a dang about us, that is most of the Medical Profession.
We have LOST so much, and want to recapture so much of the life we have lost. I hear that if we pray, you may listen, and I hope that you will
look down on us all, and hear this prayer.
Please, dear God/Jesus, help us find a cure, a better way to treat this disease, so that we can live in this fabulous world you created. Especially the late stage lyme, because this is so difficult. Please light this dark path that we do down, that none of us chose, and touch each one of our minds, to be enlightened with
hope, and be filled with peace, and the will to go on, when many of us have lost the will to go on. I hear you are a wonderful God/Jesus, and I hope and we all pray, that you can help each one of us, find treatment, and healing.
Please hear this prayer.
PS, if this offends anyone, I am sorry, but I recently am back to Catholic Church and prayer after being away for 18 years, and I desperately want to be well, and I hear prayer can help.
God/Jesus please help us all get well. Help the ones with no money, to find treatment someway, and help the Medical Profession, help us more, the ones with no hope find success with treatment. Help us all in some way to find light because the darkness can be so dark, it just is too dark to go on. Please hear this prayer dear God/Jesus.

this is really wonderful, but- don't take this personally- you should re-post it in 'general support forum' (and 'up' it there) rather than Medical because the Medical forum is so busy that people's urgent requests for info get buried by all the rapid turnover of posts. This means that quite often people complain that there are too many 'not-quite-on-topic' posts in Medical that make it hard for their questions to stay visible.
It's a really moving prayer, thank you.

Hey Trish,
I'm a very spiritual person and your prayer really tugged at my heartstrings.
There are many times that I look back on a really bad day and think a divine angel must've carried me right through it into the next and better day.
I cannot imagine dealing with this disease with no faith in God and without his presence in my life to guide me. I don't regulary go to church, but I pray every day. Actually, ususally several times a day! Somedays are one long, continuous prayer to get me through it!
At the moment I am having a very hard time putting my thoughts into words, so I will just leave it at this - Your prayer was beautiful and heartfelt - thank you for writing it.

THIS is where we need the help. In the Medical Section.
Is this ok, to keep it here? In the Medical Section? BTW, my brain is not functioning like it should, so I just wrote the best I could now.

Ditto!
I am also happy to see no real objections thus far. A few months ago someone posted a nice poem (not even a prayer) with Christian connotations on the CA Lyme forum, and got slammed for weeks even after apologzing. It's so refreshing to see that the rest of the country (or at least Lymenet) is more tolerant of those who want to share religious ideas and messages.
Thanks Trish! Posted by Annxyz (Member # 9097) on :

Trish,
May I join you in prayer??
Dear Great heavenly Father,
Father fisrt I ask that I be forgivven for my sins as I know that I a fallen many times. I don't want anything to stand in the way of You hearing my prayer.
Lord, I ask that You will hear out prayers and all who are calling out to You for Your help. Father we pray that You will lead us to the right Dr.'s; we pray that You will somehow edudgucate the many in the medical feild that know nothing about this devasting disease.
Father as you look at what so many have written; as you look into all of the hearts that hurt so badly. So many of us have lost so much, some have lost everything they have, some have lost loved ones, and some have lost the loving spirit they once had.
We ask for Your help Lord with all of these things, Father we have faith that you will either choose to heal us, or lead us in the right direction to be healed.
Thank you for hearing our prayer Lord and help us to keep our faith in You,
In Jesus name we pray,
Amen
Trish, Lauren and others, thank you for your prayers and for given me the opportunity to pray!
God Bless!

Amen to your prayer, and I stand in agreement in Jesus' name.
Dear heavenly Father, we thank You for allowing each of us to see another day.
We thank You also for this wonderful, supportive group of people who are reaching out to others, sometimes in spite of barely being able to get up out of bed.
Father, forgive us all of our sins, and help us to live in newness of life.
Father, I just lift up each person on this forum and their families.
Provide for their needs today, whether for health, finances, emotional or spiritual well-being. You know what each of us needs.
Father, it's so hard to see Your will in any of this suffering, but I know that You have some purpose in this.
If it is Your will for us to know WHY, then please show us the reason. If it is not Your will for us to know why, then give us peace and comfort, and the grace to bear our burdens each day.
Praisse You Father for this day, and may You receive all glory today.
In Jesus' name we pray.
Amen.

Words of encouragement:
We've just come through the Christmas season when we often hear the term ``Emanuel'' which means God is with us.
We can be assured that He is with us during this tough season of our lives.
There may be times that we feel like he's a hundred miles away but the truth is He wants to carry us through it. Just like the old poem, ``Footprints in the Sand.''
2 Corinthians 12:9 says, ``...My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness...'' The word sufficient here means ``just enough.''
So please find strength in the fact that He'll give us ``just enough'' of what we need to get through the day.
Tomorrow is another day. And He'll give us ``just enough'' then too.
Whether this topic is permitted to remain or not let's commit to one another that we'll continue to pray.
God Bless. Steve

Father we thank you for this and may all of the Glory be to you Lord.
Father, thank you for using Trish and all of the others to encourage and give hope to all! Lord thank You for using all who have come together in agreement in comeing to You Lord in this time of need. For reminding us that You are here for all of Your children, all we have to do is reach out for You in faith!!!
Thank You Father for placing a hedge of protection, Your angels for keeping the enemy away from all who are here. For allowing this thread that Trish started, and Lord I pray that You will bless her and all of the others that have joined in and praying to You Lord.

I too, stand in prayer and agreement. The book of Psalm says this, and it came to me one day when I was in prayer over my lyme:
6 You made him ruler over the works of your hands; ou put everything under his feet: 7 all flocks and herds, and the beasts of the field, 8 the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas.
I believe there is a cure and I believe that God will hear our prayers. Dear Lord, in the meantime, give us the grace to live with this disease, as you said, "my grace is sufficient for you" and grant those who have the power to help us with this disease to be willing and able to do so. Grant us the ability to forgive those would, and have, turned us away as far as treatment and help us to move forward towards a cure.
Yes, the power of prayer is amazing!

To Trish for started the most helpful and encouraging thread I've ever seen!!
To all of you who have joined in and supported this thread, and you Trish; I CANNOT THANK YOU ALL ENOUGH!
I have been telling my husband, my son and some close friends for monthes now that I am going to get back into God's word. I am going to re-gain the close relationship that I once had.
This morning is the first time that I have opened and read my Bible in a very long time!!! I owe that to all of you and give the Glory to God! Thank you all!
When I was in His word and my Faith so strong that I never worried about anything as I knew that the Lord was in control. (yes, this was when I was sick) I am 44 years old, and I can honestly say that those 3 years was the only time that I have ever had TRUE joy and PEACE; the kind of peace that I never kenew enen existed or was possible.
I have longed for that peace and joy and I know how to have it back. I can only have it again through the Lord. So, thank you once again for making me pick my Bible back up!!!
With continual prayers for all, and much graditude to all and to God!!!

Hi everyone,
That is great that this thread/post is going so well. I myself never liked to pray for years, and I walked into the Catholic Church here, one early AM, I actually just barely made it there
I was so sick, and just sat in the tiny chapel to ask God/Jesus to help me because I had NO hope, and I just had nothing left to give, no strength to breath, and I wanted to end my life,
but it is not easy to end your life when it comes down to it, so I just sat there, and sobbed my eyes out all alone in that tiny chapel, and I left later, and that night, my MIND felt the will to go on, it felt peace and happiness to some degree,
and it got me thinking, hmmmm, maybe there IS some reason there are so many churches out there. It was the CHURCH that made me feel this way, what was in the church,
now all you people, I am not wanting to preach to you to go to church, because I did not like church or all that it stood for really, the sins and so on, but now, because I have felt something in the church, and read about the Bible and so on, which I keep to myself, as I dont like to preach,
I can see things better, and who else is going to get me well, I am treading on a path I never liked before, but now, I am on it, and it gives me hope and help,
and I have also had help from God/Jesus in ways I would not have thought of, even though I do something WRONG, I am helped in ways I never knew that God/Jesus woudl help me,
which I personally feel for me, this new found help is teaching me, that God/Jesus is not what I thought he was, he is much more great then I thought,
and, well who knows, maybe things will get better.
I like to read stories of people healed by God/Jesus, and maybe I will be one day, healed in some way?
WHo knows.
I have felt remarkable help in some ways, that I did not know God/Jesus would help me in, so I just keep praying and that is it.
Who knows.
I am just trying to get well.
Trish

Posted by Health (Member # 6034) on :
I am sorry, it is too personal to say how he helped me. I dont want to reveal too much. I am sorry.
I can just say, even though you go down a wrong path in life, just keep hanging on to God/Jesus because he is there no matter what you do, because he will eventually get you on the right path again.
OK, now, I am knew at all this, I may make mistakes on this thread, but I am learning, so I just do what I have to do to keep hanging on, because sometimes, all this prayer and such wants me to leave this path, but I dont, I just keep going,
I sometimes say no more prayers, and the next few days, I pray some more, and have some NICE help, just modern help, nice help, full of hope for
ME, help for me, in my situation.
So, it is good for me.
I just have hit rock bottom, like many of us, and the will to go on left me, and well, that is how I found the church and praying.

The words to this song by Third Day really speak to me. Here's the song:
My life has led me down the road that's so uncertain And now I am left alone and I am broken, Tryin' to find my way, tryin' to find the faith that's gone
This time, I know that you are holding all the answers I'm tired of losing hope and taking chances, On roads that never seem, To be the ones that bring me home
Give me a revelation, Show me what to do Cause I've been tryin' to find my way, I haven't got a clue Tell me should I stay here, Or do I need to move Give me a revelation I've got nothing without You I've got nothing without You
My life has led me down this path that's ever winding Through every twist and turn I'm always finding, That I am lost again (I am lost again) Tell me when this road will ever end.
Give me a revelation, Show me what to do Cause I've been tryin' to find my way, I haven't got a clue Tell me should I stay here, Or do I need to move Give me a revelation I've got nothing without You I've got nothing without
I don't know where I can turn Tell me when will I learn Won't You show me where I need to go Oh oh Let me follow Your lead, I know that it's the only way that I can get back home

Dear Trish,
I pray, and have complete faith that you will come back to this wonderful thread you started and will really hear what I am about to say. I have faith that the Lord will keep this on-going in your heart and mind.
First I want you to know that whether you realize it or not, GOD HAS CHOSEN YOU, YES YOU TRISH TO REACH OUT TO ALL OF US. SO MANY HAVE BEEN ENCOURAGED AND REGAINED HOPE, HAVE COME CLOSER TO THE LORD MAYBE FOR THE FIRST TIME. OR, LIKE ME, HAVE COME CLOSER ONCE AGAIN BECAUSE OF YOUR PRAYER THAT STARTED THIS THREAD!!!!!!
You may wonder why He chose you. You mentioned that you have been walking down the wrong path, but you are now trying to walk/stay on the right path, continuing to pray! We don't always know why and may never know why, but as we grow closer to God over time, we gain faith and with that srong faith, we don't feel the need to know why as we've learned to give everything ot Him. I say we, but actually I am speaking about me, my story when I refer to gaining faith and no longer needing or wonder WHY!
Trish, and all of you who are following this thread and coming together in prayer and faith in our Lord. I would like to share just some on my story in y'all don't mind?? It is a very long story, but I will try to shorten it!!????
Even though my mom took us to church most of my child hood. And I knew of God, and NEVER went to sleep w/o praying. In looking back, I really didn't KNOW God, my prayer's where for material things and Lord please make Mark marry me!! Etc.... In looking back it's kind of funny, but I thank my mom as she planted that seed in me however it was many years before it began to grow!
I am NOT proud of my past and actually very embarred right now as everyone will know all that I've done----Yikes!!!! But no matter as I feel right now it's important to share.
When I was 15 I began to RUN down the wrong path!! I got into drugs, drinking, acting as if I never knew the Lord. I stopped going to church. I cut shcool to go the lake with friends and did drugs and drank all day, and on and on.
Now while on this path for a long time, there where many forks in the path where I could have turned to get off the path and yet I chose not to!!
I stopped doing drugs at about age 17 only because I just woke up one morning and thought, I just don't want to do this anymore. I don't feel good, I was taking money from my parents to pay for them and I just decided to stop??????!
This is harder than I thought to write this. I am ashamed of all of this, but it was the path I chose for a while.
I have 3 children and when my two older ones where about 5 and 10 I think, I realized that I had never taken them to church even though that knew about God through me. I was not planting that seed that my mom made sure was planted in me. So I took them one morning to a church that I'd never heard of, but it was what we came up on.
Trish-----my faith in God, me gaining understanding in the Lord did not come overnight!!! It actually took many years of continual growth and hearing His word over and over again. It, at least for me, was a long process that brought more faith, joy and peace each year.
Then suddenly my faith became so very strong in God which gave me total and complete FREEDOM!! It gave me PEACE that I had never known before, it is a peace that I can't explain. And it gave me JOY even with all of the pain of my illness, being a single parent of 3 children and now 2 of them teenagers.
Even after have to quit my job, a Nurse that I enjoyed so much. After having to give up my 3bd, 2ba house that I had lived in for a few years. I was on disability now and could not afford it anymore. My 3 children and myself had to move into a two bedroom, 1 bath tiny trailer with the ceiling falling in in many places!! We lived right in the middle of a COW pasture!!! No kidding!
And yet I was blessed with such joy, peace and free from any worries for the first time! It was only through God that this was possible! My children are 25, 21 and 14 now. Any they have said so many times that living in that tiny little trailer right in the middle of that cow pasture are their fondest memories!!! They are mine too believe it or not. We were so happy even with all of the struggles we faced.
Trish there is much, much more I want to share with you but I have to take a break.
One thing that I really want to share with you is that as you try to stay on that path, continuing to pray and that leading you closer to God. The enemie, the devil will do everything possable to get you off that path!!!
As the Bible says and I wish I could remember the exact book it's in,-------THE EVIL ONE WILL SHOOT FIRERY DARTS INTO YOUR MIND; YOU MUST FIGHT THEM WITH GOD'S WORD AND PRAYER.
Realize that the times that you read all of the prayers and you mentioned that sometimes it makes you not want to pray and yet you keep going and do pray.
But, that is the evil one doing everything to keep you from finding the peace and help you long for!!!!
You can win this battle with God and He has already defeted the devil, but you have to command/resist those negative thoughts/darts and you WILL FIND WHAT YOUR LOOKING FOR!!!! I PROMISE!
I know this is a lot that I've just thrown at you and I actually didn't mean too. However I'm not going to edit it as although you may not be ready to hear all of this yet, I have faith that these words came to me as I was typing for a reason. So I am leaving them here.
Please realize that He chose you and just look at all you have done for so many!!!
Thank you!!!

Enough. If all of you can read, please do so and check out the title to this section...this does not include Religious propaganda.
In fact, there have been many studies that PROVE, and I mean PROVE, that praying does not influence outcomes of medical problems. One study showed that hospital patients that had people praying for them had NO BETTER OUTCOMES than those who did not.
Perhaps you should ask yourself why your prayers were not answered when you got this disease in the first place.
This topic is entirely inappropriate for Lymenet Medical Questions. The rules apply to EVERYONE...not just a few. There are MANY religious websites on the internet...please respect the rights of those who do NOT want a religious agenda shoved down their throats.
MEDICAL QUESTIONS do not include religion...of any kind.

Sorry this offended anyone,
not my intention, thought it may help some of us, prayer works for me,
I dont care what they say, it may not help some and they may die, but some live, and go on, and get better treatments, or whatever else.
You dont always get what you ask for, you get what you need they say, something like this.
Praying works for me, it is a keeper for life. Sitting in the Catholic Church for myself, I like when no one is there, and I pray there, even if I ly on the bench and cry, I pray,
and I get some help sometimes, I feel it, and I know it, and I cherish the church,
because it saved me.
Thing is, most people give up to soon, just because 1-2 prayers arent answered, some are.

How is everyone today? Trish how are you doing?
James 5:11a(NIV)
"As you know, we consider blessed those who have persevered."
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for all our
blessings and the strength to endure and
persevere. We pray that you will put your
healing hand upon each and everyone of us as we
gather together here on Lymenet. Make us well.
Thank you for loving us, thank you for your
words and wisdom. Thank you for sending us your
only Son. In Jesus name we pray, Amen

Dear Jesus I agree with my Brother and Sister's that in your name we are more than conquerors and more than over comers. We speak to this Lyme Disease and ask for the total victory and that the Lying Devil would be expose for all his lies. We come against those that would hoard information just to make a buck with this Disease. From the tops of our heads to our little toes let every man be a lyre and let your words be true AMEN!

randibear - Me Too! Every night I pray for my friends here at Lymenet.
We need to just keep praying for each other! I'm sorry you are having a difficult time right now - so many of us here are.
I think it's the cold on top of everything else that makes us feel worse.
"Hear a just cause, O Lord Attend to my cry
Give ear to my prayer which is not from deceitful lips.
Let my vindication come from Your Presence; Let Your eyes look on the things that are upright." Psalm 17:1-2
Lord please hear our prayer, we have labored long and hard in this disease.
Although we seek medical help from professionals, truly we rely on You alone to heal us.
You have numbered every hair upon our head and it is You who understands our everything.
Heal us Lord, please hear our prayers. In Jesus name, Amen

I love this thread!
Thanks Trish for starting it and thanks to all those who contributed.
Faith is a huge part of my treatment, and I am thankful for the prayers here and offer mine with them.
I don't want to continue a debate, but JRW said that studies have proven prayer doesn't change the outcome of a patient's illness. He neglected to tell us the full story. Prayer did not change the outcome in those who didn't know anyone was praying for them, but it DID change the outcome in those who KNEW people were praying for them.
