After 14+ years,

one faintly positive Lyme IgM 9 years ago,

multiple tick bites,

multiple EMs (with photos),

a dozen other diagnoses,

$$$$$$$$ of other tests and treatments from general practitioners, internists, orthopedists, rheumatologists, neurologists, psychologists,

$$$$$$$$ in medical leaves and lost jobs,

and family and relationships gone down the crapper...... [toilet]

MY NEW LLMD, WITHIN TWO VISITS, A COMPREHENSIVE EXAM, THOROUGH HISTORY, AND $2600 IN LABS LATER...

FORMALLY DIAGNOSED ME WITH CHRONIC LYME TODAY!!!!

AND NOTHING ELSE!!!!! [woohoo]

I broke down and blubbered like a baby in his office.....

He said he is used to it.

WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!!!!!

AND I got meds!!!! [Big Grin]

THANK YOU GUYS!!!!!! (esp TinCup, mtree, and OptiMisTick) [group hug]

I knew you were one of us "very special" people.

So glad you know.

I cried in relief too when I finally was diagnosed.

I could only say "Thank you" to the nurse who called to tell me.

Keep us posted on how you are doing on the meds.

Let us know if you need anything.

Hugs,

Geneal

MissM,

yea!! So glad for you! I was SO relieved when I got my diagnosis too!

It's so comforting (in a strange way) to know what has been wrong for years and years.

Are you starting treatment now??

Take care,
Ocean

I want to say congratulations (in the best possible way)!

I am sorry you are struggling with this disease, but it is wonderful that you now have a diagnosis and can start the road to better health.

For years and years I have suspected that I have Lyme Disease, but like you and so many others, the diagnosis and treatment are not forthcoming.

My first appt. with a LLMD is March 17 and I am literally counting the hours.

I'm wishing you a ton of happiness and good health as you go on through this journey.

CONGRATS!!! I am new to this too!

I was happy to finally know what was wrong with me too.

My husband said I wouldn't be happy, I would still be upset that I am sick. And, I am, just a little, but I have a path to follow now.

I know there is a chance, and I am going to try to beat it!!

I am so glad you are getting treatment, finally.

I remember the day I saw 3 positive Western Blots for lyme, babesia, and an ehrlichia (HME).

My ND had ordered the tests from Igenex because my GP would not do the right test.

When I saw the results (in '97) two decades of illness made sense. I thought, finally, a chance for life.

But I was shocked I when I could find no MD in my state to treat. Most violently discounted the tests and my symptoms.

It would be long before some of the books were out that are now helping me.

I am so glad that you have a good LLMD - as least now you know how to proceed.

Best of luck.

Well, I almost want to use Groucho's old line about not wanting to be a member of any club that would have me....

And on one hand, this is a bugger of a club (I know, bad pun, I slap my own face!) [bonk]

But on the other, it is filled with the BEST people! [spinning smile]

And so I just want to thank ALL of you and send you a bug hug! [group hug]

I honestly would not even be here today without your caring and support --- I mean that with all my heart! [Big Grin]

And I have to say that although this is not a diagnosis I would wish on anyone, the gratitude that I have for all of you as well as my LLMD

Is because of the VALIDATION that was given to me!

I think that is such a huge, important part of dealing with this disease.

SO --- Started the doxy Tuesday.... today I feel like the bus ran over me, and backed up over me, and ran over me again

Parts of me hurt that I never had hurt before, fever, chills, headaache, muscle aches ---- you know what I'm talking about! [dizzy]

But I knew to expect this herxing, so I'll just ride it out.

And again, on one hand it's REALLY bad [shake] (I'm going back to bed as soon as I finish this!)

But on the other, this reaction means that Lyme has been there as I thought.

Mari [hi]

..."today I feel like the bus ran over me, and backed up over me, and ran over me again..."

Some days I feel like a chewed up peice of gum on the bottom of some ones shoe...and they keep stepping on me... [bonk] [Big Grin]

all you can do is ride it out now....

you know where to reach me....
thinking of you...

[group hug] mtree
