I am really considering the use of a rental motor scooter when I go to the zoo with kids this week.
My legs are still swelling, getting red-hot and fatigued without warning or pattern. Happened again today w/out much walking or hot weather.
Our family hasn't done much of anything since getting sick 3 years ago and would like this to be a good experience for us all. I am feeling about 65% back to "normal" most days and am making this trip as stress free and relaxing as possible.
I have never used a scooter. Wondering if anyone had advise and dos or don'ts w/ scooter use in public areas and any other words of advice. Kids really deserve a break!

I use a reclining power chair with leg lifts. Having your legs elevated might help you too.
When I first came down sick, some of the places I visited had wheel chairs for use. A friend would push me as my arms were too weak to go manual.
You might check with the place you are going and see if that is an option too.
Scooters are the most difficult for me to use and when I am able I need to keep it short and simple.

wantabee,
i'd contact them to see what is available and then RESERVE it so it is there when you come that day vs. NONE available!
