Haha, this stuff is HORRID. The first time I took it, it literally exploded on my tongue and my entire body was like revolting and I didn't know what was happening.
Nasty. Someone around here had a suggestion about tipping head backwards with a mouth full of water and swallowing everything on one go..so I tried that on the next one...thank you whoever that was.

Would the pharmacy be able to add a flavor to it? I know when my kids took ceftin it was like getting a cat to take medicine.
I'm a newbie and a mom so I feel for you!

Are you just not liking the taste?
If it is the taste, and the fact that it's dissolving too quickly on the tongue, try coating it in melted real butter before swallowing it. (not margarine, that stuff melts funny)
I find the oil/fat provides a barrier between my saliva and the pill, so that it won't dissolve so fast.
But now I don't do that, because I have gotten the hang of swallowing it right. If you get the water in your mouth really fast after the pill, so the Ceftin is surrounded by water before it gets a chance to touch your tongue and saliva coating on the tongue, you may have better luck.
In other words, avoid the Ceftin sitting on or touching your tongue directly, at all costs.

Guess what? They've changed the coating on ceftin- there is no coating anymore.
I've been on it for 1 year and it's noticeably different. Here's my recommendation and this is what I do: buy large sized gelatin capsules. Chop each ceftin into quarters and put 2 quarters to a capsule. This has made taking them MUCH easier.
You can also put them in a bit of yogurt or something that goes down easy.
Good luck and I agree- it's not just the taste- it dissolves the instant it hits your mouth.
