I guess I'm wondering...do I put them in my carry on or in my checked luggage? Should I bring the whole container or make up daily pill bags? [confused]

There is nothing liquid and I have not seen any restictions on medications except tp make sure they are properly labled.

I put them in my carry on with the pill container. My reasoning was that if my luggage got lost then pills are lost too! So better to carry them with you. Had no issues despite lots of pills.

I put mine in a weekly pill container that has a spot for everyday.

Sometimes I'd have so much crap to lug around that I had to put some in daily baggies too.

I would try to carry mine on just because I didn't want to go without anything if my luggage got lost or delayed, which has happened to me.

Thatks for your tips! I will put them in my carry-on in the containers. Most of the containers are small enough, but some larger.

I put mine in checked luggage. Was afraid they'd ask questions if I carried them on.

what I do is fill my weekly pill thing..Sun-Sat...so it's easily ready like I do at home...

I put all meds/supplements in original containers in a zip lock bag in my carry on bag...

in all the years of traveling (and being sick) this is what I've always done with no problems....

If your luggage gets stolen or lost...then you are on vacation without meds...no fun.. [shake]

....

also if you get stuck with flight delays etc..it's best to have them with you then not..

last year when we went away they were more concerned about the water bottle in my bag...(forgot to take it out)..then all of the pill bottles....

I have traveled a ton, plus 2 international trips. And NOT ONCE was I asked about my meds.

Like mtree, they were more concerned with my water bottle.

I have been on trips for about 1 week, so I carried on all my meds/supplements. I even carry on my syringes for my heprain.

What I do to prepare for the trip is:
Carry all meds in their bottles, plus I keep the printout from my pharmacy, which states that it is an abx and such.

I then have a letter from my doctor stating I am under his care and needs these meds as part of my treatment.

I then leave my supplements in my weekly pill box.

Syringes & Heparin are kept in a plastic baggie. I usually only keep a 2-3 day supply of this in my carry-on. The rest is placed in my checked luggage.

If you look or act nervous about your lugguage, they will pick up on it.

i take my train case on the plane with me. i guess you call it a makeup bag. fits right under the seat.

reason is -- i went to california and my luggage went to montreal. it was 5 days before i got it. and i had no meds at all....

they've never even looked at it.

one checker said something and i said oh, i really need them. she said "terminal? oh i'm very sorry". closed the case and off i went.

felt bad, but they were going to give me hard time i just knew it. she looked at the guys and said let her go.

whew....

I put my pills in small ziploc baggies. They don't take up much room that way. I label the baggies with what is in them and I group them according to when I take them. IE: Breakfast pills, dinner pills, etc.

I always heard they want all meds in original containers not the pill organizers so they can easy tell what they are. Rx's in proper bottle.

IF I have a full bottle of say magnesium,,i take about half again of what I need for a trip and leave the rest at home,,,makes luggage lighter too.

But I had NOTHING I couldnt replace in 5 minutes in any store!! (all sups).

I checked mine cause didnt want them rummaging thru them!! Like I say if i lost all of them I could get new in 5-10 minutes in any store!!

Rx meds I think I would carry on too!! Hassle to get replaced in remote areas

All of the pills are supplements because I am off the antibiotics for a full month now (and still feeling well!) so they are not prescribed. That is why I was so concerned.

mtree..Yes I am going on vacation! I am really looking forward to it. Since this summer began and I was feeling so much better I feel like I have a new lease on life!

I am cautious but ready to tackle some water parks and rollercoasters with the kids!!

just don... I have also heard about the original containers. I think that they will be more concerned with my son's and my inhalers.

I could replace most of my supplements pretty easily with the exception of the cats claw I would think. However I would rather just have them on me.

I have traveled to Spain, Montreal, Las Vegas and West Palm Beach FL without any problems. I even carried my Mepron (liquid) onboard after showing it to the inspectors.

Yup, I keep mine in their original bottles & I carry them on.... Have never had a problem with meds. They did take away my wine opener though, lol
