I am in need of some prayers, as I am only 2 1/2 months away from starting school.
i know i am better than i was before my picc line, but my concern is still my cognition.
Please pray for me and my brain! so i can do well in medical school, learn and absorb all that i can and in the long run, become the lyme literate doctor that is needed in the future of health care.
Thank you so much for your support!!!

Hi Green!
Prayers being sent your way....
Have you ever taken Bactrim DS? If you haven't, it is worth a shot, because it really has helped my cognition. It took me a long time to finally try Bactrim, since it's not great against Lyme. I think for me it nailed out some Bart.
Best of luck!

Good luck! Kudos to u for being a future LLMD!!!
I started my PHD psych program in early September.. I decided to take 5 classes but all within 2 days so I have time to rest.. I'm not gona lie.. Its difficult.... I feel cognitively like I can absorb the info but I have a test coming up and I'm nervous about recall--we'll see... Most often, its the temp issues and headaches that get to me in class.. I just hope I get through it and dont have to quit!

thanks so much everyone!!!
Hoos, I was on Bactrim DS for a while, but it was killing my white cells, so my LMD took me off.
Everyone here will be my motivation through those rough time I will encounter.
So I would like to thank all of you in Advance for the push and motivation to never give into the stress. I will devote my medical degree to everyone who helped me get it!
And that most certainly includes all of my friends on lymenet!!! For without some of you, I may not be here today.

Hi Green,
I am currently in university myself. I was lucky, in that for the last 8 months (Jan-Sept), when my symptoms became the worst, I was out of school, doing an internship.
I started treatment in August, and returned to school in September. Although my cognition is better than it was, it still is not good.
My advice would be to make sure you think everything out beforehand. My cognition problems mean I have poor decision making ability- which means I am enrolled in a full course load, instead of a partial course load- or even no courses at all.
I am now in the process of determining if I need to drop-out of school. It isn't fun- I had my everything all planned out for the next five years of my life, and now I have to re-evaluate. B
But remember- a lot can happen in two and a half months. I will be praying that you improve enough that you just breeze through med school!

8 weeks to go!!
I'm getting a little nervous... I've been feeling that overall body exhaustion again
Seeing Dr. J on Friday. He is my guide through this.
*sigh*
Thank you guys so much for your support. It means more than I can put into words.
With unending love and gratitude, ~Jen~

Jen,
It's ok to be a little nervous.
You will get into your new routine soon and I can feel it....you will do well.
You will have so much passion to help others who are sick like you, that it will continue to motivate you to push forward.
Will it be easy? No, nothing really worthwhile is easy.
But you can do it. Do it for all of us.
You will have the biggest cheering section of anyone in Med school!
Keep us updated. I am praying for you.
Big hugs.

I think it is so cool that you are going to med
school. If you are on this forum you have been
exposed to what people REALLY have to go
through. You have seen good and bad doctors.
Let's not even mention the politics! I am
praying for you.
My friend went to med school and she had a very
holistic view, so she had to bite her tongue a
number of times to get through. SHe did and she
was an incredible doctor. You can do it! YOu've
gotten accepted and many don't even get that far.
We really need good doctors. Know that we are
behind you!
God bless you and uphold you as you set forth into this worthy future.
***Continue to take care of yourself.(I'm a mom. I say things like that all the time:) PB

here's to our future COMPASSIONATE LLMD in training. Posted by ThatColorGreen (Member # 16016) on :
Alrighty,
so i just got back from seeing the wonderful Dr. J
as usual, he made me feel more confident about starting in january.
i had to get a few vaccinations for school and they knocked me on my butt.
Since i've only had my picc line out for three months my immune system is still recovering and wasn't ready to handle the vaccines.
Still have two months to recover though, so I think everything will work out.
Anyway, that's the latest from me.
Thanks for the continued support!!!
~Green~
