I know the feeling, and it hurts. I usually wear out chiropractors. Darn that Lyme.
This week I flunked yoga class. First chem sensitivity to the carpet, then chem sensitivity to the lit candle, then my knee popped out!
I think the yoga folks didn't get that I REALLY couldn't handle things until they witnessed this. I told them that I used to be able to do all this fine before I was bitten by a tick.
It helps me to remember my former healthy life, to understand that yes, everyone else for the most part has the privilege, and I'm going to call it privilege, to be able to live the lives they choose to live.
It's actually TAB - temporarily able-bodied. But unless you lose that access, you don't understand, usually.
We live on a different planet and need to hang with each other as well for understanding.

Maddog, your friends are still with you...they just need a time out every now and then.. your family will always love you and under- stand what you are going through because they are going through it with you... they feel bad they can't make you better...
so hang in and you can always come here because we all go through this together...

See? You have US!
It's crazy though. I was just thinking along these same lines yesterday.
I'm sick of saying I don't feel well when someone asks. And I'm sick of their responses.
I get silence after I tell them how I'm feeling....like they had expected me to say I'm better because it's been so long now.
I'm going to stop being honest with them.
From now on, when someone says "how are you feeling? How's your lyme?", I'm just going to say "I'm good" and change the subject.
No one understands this disease.

Thanks everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am giving my family and friends here in ohio a break for a while.
I get to whine to my psychologist today.
My lawyer is on the SS thing.
I am sighning up for every gov. aid I can get.
Topaz, here are a couple of comebacks for that question.(how you feeling) 1.I am still kicking but not as high. 2.Have you got all day to listen. 3.Well i still have one foot that isn't in the grave. 4.I feel like warmed over death riding on a fig newton.
(How is your lyme) 1. I squeezed it into some Mezcal. 2. I put it in my tea. 3. I left it in the fridge to long and it molded.

MadDog I wore them out too. Now I just pretend like I am fine. The good news is that I am much better. But I am not fine, not even close and I still could use some support.
Posted by Topaz (Member # 20216) on :
Awesome comebacks, MADDOG. Especially like the Fig Newton one...haha.
Maybe I'll try one or two of them out on a loved one tomorrow. Just for kicks. :b

my late mother-in-law had a great comeback ....

Hey MADDOG,
Long time, no see. I'm sorry you are going through all this stuff. Like just being sick isn't enough. I hope it all works out.
I'm sure your family and friends just need a break. How can they stay away from such a sweet guy for long? Looks like you have lots of friends here so concentrate on that.
Call us sometime. I know Roger would love to talk to you. He's been through a rough Summer himself. He was put on biaxin for a sinus infection and ended up in the psych ward. Can't believe it did that to him. It put him in a manic state.
He's fine now mentally but of course still having physical problems and so am I. Anyway, we would love to hear from you. If you ever need to talk call Roger. You know how he loves to talk.LOL

Bettyg, cute comeback.
It reminds me of my late grandfather, who we called Ralphie because he didn't want to be called Grandpa.
He was always tipping a few and telling corny jokes and singing Irish songs to us grandkids.
One of his favorite jokes goes something like this:
Everyone was feeling Rosy. So Rosy got up and left!
Our parents used to yell at him but we thought he was hilarious.

Wow,I think the biaxin caused serious brain herxes, for Rodger.
This disease is so hard to live with.
I will try to call!!

I liked them too!
My reply to people used to be "I'm OK." That's all they got since they didn't want to hear more anyway.

Hi Gang Thanks,I know people here understand.
And that makes a difference!!!
I spend every day trying to figure a way to make some bucks without one of my disabilities stoping me.
I wish i could pick up some parts for something and assemble them at home on a paid per object compleated.
