hang in there. I don't have anxiety myself, but I hear it is very common with us Lymies. Hopefully more people will post. I think it will get better with treatment and time.

It is likely that the doxy will help you. I doubt you will have a herx on it. I feared the herxes also, but they turned out to be nothing in my case. Many people just have very mild herxes. They really are nothing to fear.
Take anti-anxiety meds until the lyme doc gets the lyme under control. Then, you won't need them anymore. Be good to yourself.
Once a good lyme doc gets this disease under control, you will get your life back. I completed my lyme treatment 4 1/2 years ago and I am still symptom-free, enjoying my life--the same life I had before lyme disease.
I had the lyme anxiety big time. It goes away with good treatment. ALL of my problems and symptoms went away once I got to a good lyme doc. And, I had lyme undiagnosed for 10 years!
Things will get better. The doxy is your friend. As soon as I started it, it got rid of some of my symptoms, and it was wonderful.

I think this is more typical of a symptom of Bartonella. I had anxiety,
OCD, bipolar disorder, the works. So far, Levoquin for a month has made
my irrational anxiety completely go away. Though I'm not ruling out Lyme
induced anxiety in your case, just trying to share my experience.
You probably wouldn't be able to find bartonella in a blood test except
maybe a Fry Lab's blood smear. ------ Essentially knowing my anxiety was caused by this unknown tick born
illness was a miracle, it might even say it saved my life.
The absolute best antidepressent for me was Doxy. Please don't worry too
much about herxing, I really felt great even on my first month with doxy.
But my anxiety never got much better/worse on doxy, only the moodswings
and depression got better. You will have to specifically target bart
if it is infact bart induced anxiety, which I have read for most people
it is. You may also learn down the road that even after treating bart and lyme,
a coinfection like Babesia may really hit you hard, like it has for me.
So watch out for co-infections such as bartonella and Babesiosis. ------ I'm 6 months into lyme treatment, almost 2 months into Bart treatment,
neurologically I am much better, especially the anxiety. The Babesia
is causing a little depression but its so much milder than it was before
I took Doxy. My life is not full of pysch drugs any more, it feels wonderful.
No more balancing a cocktail of mind altering drugs that only were making things worse.
