What in the sam hill is this? A problem in my computer or in the CD?
Put this question on computer questions forum too but don't think it gets much action.
I would really like to look at the CD.

Active X is Microsoft software, I forget what it does exactly (I guess it runs active X programs?). It's free, so I'm not sure why it needs to be registered.
You probably have to update it, or reinstall it, etc. But anyway, if you don't get a better response, at least you know where to start looking: the MS website.
(I've always had Macs so I don't know much more than this).
Good Luck,
James

Lou, These are powerpoint presentations (not a video). Maybe your p.c. doesn't have the latest version or something??
Heck I dunno either....hope that was helpful!!!

OK, I don't get this. I went on the ILADS site and you can buy a CD. Is that what you have Lou?

Yes, that is what I have. And the files seem to be PDF. I know nothing about powerpoint. Computer illiterate here.
Guess I will try a computer elsewhere that is better equipped and see what happens.

Lou,
Google activex. You will find an explanation. It looks like a component of Internet Explorer, and depending on what version of IE you have, it may be obsolete. You don't give any info on what kind of computer, version of Windows or IE you have, so it's hard to help you.
What you have is a CD-ROM, and therefore needs specific software to run. That is different that a CD (this is why it will not run on a Mac).

Windows XP. Not using Internet explorer, using firefox. Never had trouble with a CD before this.

Lou, the fact that you are using Firefox may be the issue. If it mentioning ActiveX this is garbage technology only supported by Microsoft. If the CD needs ActiveX then it will not work in Firefox. Is the software opening up in Firefox? If so copy paste the URL (address in the brower) that it is opening up in Internet Explorer and see if that makes a difference.
