Does anyone have any creative Christmas gift ideas? Specifically, I need something for my best friend. She's been so supportive, especially over these past couple months. I would like to give her a nice gift, you know, just to thank her for being my friend. Only i've run out of gift ideas (candles, lotion, picture frames, books, movies, gift cards, etc).
I would love to hear any suggestions. Thanks so much!

I love handmade gifts! Are you crafty at all? Can you crochet, knit, sew or paint?
Maybe take her out to dinner and a movie. Spend time together doing something special.
I know....I'm pretty old-fashioned but those are the gifts that I love the most.

How about a cleaning service? Or a spa day for the two of you?
I know you said you've done books, have you done any from a christian bookstore? There are some that are just for friends that let them know just how much they mean to you, or even funny books of friendship, or daily devotionals.
One year for my birthday, my best friend wrote me a letter. She wrote about how we had met, things we have done together, the fun times we had, the sad times we had, and how much she valued my friendship. It was really quite a long letter. I cried. BEST birthday gift I had gotten.

Make or find a year calendar with pockets on the bottom of the page of each month.
Put a note and/or a gift card or cash, in an envelope for each month. The note can say anything... how much you care for them.. or it can be a photo of you both from years ago... or how proud you are of them.... use your imagination.
Then mark on the calendar a certain day of each month when she can open that envelope... the day you met, her birthday, a holiday, etc... get goofy if you want on that... National Pickle Day, etc...
Then wrap it up nicely.
It is a gift that gives happiness year round and it is fun for them to have a special something for each month.
I did this with the kids and their instructions were to open the envelopes on a certain day... and on that day the note inside said, "Don't forget to call your mother" or "Your mommy loves you" or whatever.
I used movie gift cards, store gift cards, book store cards, cards from food places or to eat out. And for things without pre-made gift cards I would just write a note and put cash in there and say...
"Use this cash to buy a steak to cook on the grill".. or... "Use this to spend a day at the beach" or other things I thought they would like.

I use to love to make up scavenger hunts too. Did it a lot to the kids and they loved it.
Give them one box with a clue inside rather than a gift. That clue leads to another box with a clue. Then to another and another till you finally get to the present.
Not only will YOU get to think, you will make them think. Make the clue rhyme, or make it funny... or whatever.

Thank you for reminding me about the Christian bookstore. I don't go shopping very often and I don't feel very creative right now (cognitive/brain fog problems) so these things really help me.
I could use and idea for my sister too...

One thing that my relatives love (and really miss now that I'm sick and don't have the energy) is my Christmas care packages.
I would include totally decadent goodies--peanut butter fudge, a variety of cookies, and these amazing cranberry-caramel-pecan bars. Sometimes homemade candy. Oh, and my Famous Homemade Granola.
I'd send the cookies in reusable Tupperware-type dish (rather than waste a disposable "seasonal" dish), but tie a really pretty ribbon around the whole thing.

Hi there, I am new here and just reading some boards. Hope I'm not 'butting' in but I have an idea I'd like to share...
I give glass blocks (they are used in construction for glass 'walls' among other things) with Xmas lights (clear lights are really pretty) wrapped with a handmade bow. It's a 'present' AS a present. People love them! They make great night lights and I leave mine out all year! They are great for teachers too!

I love these Hour Power watches which hold photos and can be inscribed. I helped my mother chose one for my brother, which was given to him on his birthday 11 days after her death.
Instead of purchasing things I hope to exchange ideas of how to help each other.
Perhaps, in a card, one could state what one has plans on doing that.
Volunteering or random acts of kindnmess is what I am aiming for.
I know some of you already do this without the need to be reminded of a holiday but I thought it might be emphasized more during this season.

Sammy- I was going to say a scrapbook of your friendship, filled with photos, momentos of special times shared, and a nice letter.
