It took 11 days before I could bring myself to view my copy I purchased. It was so strange how my mind/body just kept me from doing it.
It has been a long long time since I've cried over my world. I bawled like a baby from the opening.
I thought I had time to see all of it before my husband came home from work. He came home early and I was sobbing about 30 minutes into and he actually sat down and watched it with me.
He let me cry, curse Wormser & others, cheer for Dr B, Dr K and Dr Jones. My hubby really heard the message of this documentary, in my opinion he heard loud and clear for the first time in 10 yrs.
I looked over at him when Mandy & her husband were talking about sexual transmission and the look on his face was an OMG look.
My husband had lyme or company 5 yrs ago. No tick bite known of at that time. He was on abx within days of flu-like illness from hell. 6 weeks and all his sx disappeared? But there are sx here and there and tx that I am very suspicious about?
Now waiting for my adult daughter to view my world. Many of you know I've been very worried about my now 9yr old grandson for 3 yrs, who had a strep infection that changed him in many ways.
Same time period, I went to remove a deer tick from him and he scratched it off while I was getting tweezers and it fell on patio and was gone forever. I've been keeping notes of my grandson for 3 yrs. PANDAS is quite possible, but in my heart I really know the real enemy.

Pam,
I'm proud of you for gathering your courage and watching.
It's empowering in alot of ways.
That's great that your husband watched and seemed to get it.
All we really want if for people to understand, right?
I'm happy for you!! Great job!!
I understand how you feel about your other family members.
I have an adult daughter with untreated lyme/bart and I am worried about my grandsons.
It's not easy to get people to hear, though.
My daughter did watch the movie and knows she has lyme. She just won't listen to me about how to go about treatment when she has no extra money...and she is usually depressed and angry (bart).
All I can do is try, pray and wait.

The movie hit me the same way and knowing nearly everyone in it made it worse... so I know how you feel.
I think it is an exceptional tool for getting the word out there to those who try but just don't get it.
Each time you watch it you will see things you missed. Amazing too cause I thought I paid attention... but then realized my brain would get stuck on one thing and while it "absorbed" the movie didn't wait for me.
So the next time around expect to see more of it... and try to get as much of the family and friends to see it as possible.
Hugs to you!

I have the movie too. Our whole family has lyme and coinfections. The veterinarian we have gone to for many years went to the library when it was playing and called me the next day to tell me it was scary to watch the video. Most people have no idea until they watch it.

Pam,
We still haven't watched the whole movie. The part where the dad carries his kid on his back up the steps was our reality. It was too hard for us to watch.
I think you know how long Jake & Jordan have suffered - more than 10 years. Our LLMD recently tested them for chronic strep (possible PANDAS or ANDAS). Their results are 3 and 5 times the normal.
They are having surgery on Wednesday to remove their tonsils & adenoids. I don't know if this is the answer, but I'm praying it will help them.
My husband tests results were 7+ times the normal. He had the most positive Lyme and co-infection tests, but he feels the best out of our family. He plans to have the surgery later this spring/summer. My tests were in the normal range. Our LLMD wants to retest all of us in June.

Still can't even get past the trailers after all this time.
It's all just too painful and emotional for me to watch. It hits too close to home.
The dancer (Marlena) especially gets to me, but I know she is doing well now, thank God. And Mandy too...her story hit me hard as well. But she too is now doing well.
I know it ends well for them, but I still can't bear to watch the whole movie. Why do our kids have to suffer so much?
Watching Jones and Jemsek bravely going through a hell that no physician should have to endure is extremely emotional for me as well. These men have been brave enough to stand up for what they believe in and have suffered the consequences for doing so. What they are going through is just incomprehensible to me. I thank God every day for people like them.
Maybe one day I'll be able to watch the whole film, but I don't think that will be any time soon.

Thank you guys for your thoughts. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that had stress just thinking about viewing this film.
I sobbed the hardest at the end where they gave an update on McDonald. OMG, his research lost to him. He had to put himself in danger studying all those horrible bacteria(s) in his basement.
I can't get him off my mind. Please someone tell me he is improving with some treatment????

I watched it for the second time the other day.
I really like the movie and thought it was well done, but I wish they would have talked a bit more in depth about coinfections and some of the treatments for them.
I also would have liked to have seen some "milder" lyme cases along with the more severe.
