I love how lyme isn't in Texas. I just found a tick in my bathroom sink. I spent about 20 minutes comparing it to pictures online of ticks and yep it is one. I guess I must be mistaken though because Lyme isn't in Texas

Of course there are ticks and lyme in Texas but not every tick carries lyme and coinfections. The only way to know is by sending the tick to Igenex for testing.

It sure would be intersting to know if it IS infected.

Or you could make a visit one of those doctors that say there is no LD in TX and secretly attach it to him..........Just kidding..... sort of!

I just moved a month ago. In the last 24 hours we have found 3 ticks in the house. I am freaking out.

I just was laying there with insomnia feeling tickified so I got up and ordered my beneficial nematodes and guinea hens. I found that they really cut down on the population of ticks on my old property.

Ugg.

What about trying the Orange Guard or TKO Orange - it will repel bugs, inside or outside. It's biodegradable so would need to be applied probably every 24 hours.

My sister lives in Austin. She swears that in the 25 years she has lived there she has never seen a tick although last year her friend found a tick on her dog.

So, I think there are a few around. Just not as many as in other places.

I wonder how the tick got in your house? Do you have pets or had you been out in the yard recently and might have carried it in accidentally?

I was Lymed about 50 miles SE of Austin. I'm sure there are plenty of ticks there. I used to live about 40 miles west of Austin and my dog had tons of ticks when he got out one time during a fireworks display. (got scared and ran)

So, they may not be that prevalent in the city .. but they are definitely around.
